Flying from Australia to USA with 3 yr old. Do you pack video camera in your carryon?? seems heavy and plus will be most likely carrying child, plus hassled when going through security to prove it is a video camera and nothing sinister. Where do you pack yours?

I've packed mine the last 3 times in checked and not had a problem. Have any of you?

I have a vacation to Cancun booked for the end of June and probably wont have my passport on time. I applied for it weeks ago requesting normal service which they say is now 10-12 weeks. It's virtually impossible to contact the passport agency to try to get it expedited and I dont live near a passport service center. What would happen if I traveled without it and tried to return to the US?

Is it better to save until you have more money or is it ok to use up what you have to go on vacation?? Im thinking after the fun is over I might regret spending the money on the vacation even if im dying to go away....whats your opinion??

I have a washbag, sleeping bag inside a pillow case. LOADS of chlothes! I dunno how to make it all fit. ITs a medium sised case. Help?

I have a traveler's cheque made out to me. It was issued by American Express, can I take it to a store (Publix,Krogers,etc) and cash it, or can I take it to a bank (I don't have a bank here, I'm out of town) and get cash for it there or does it have to be deposited in a bank account?

Hi, I'm planning on doing a month(ish) tour on my own of Australia. I'd like to start in Sydney and finish in Sydney with the intention of working in Sydney for the remainder of my years permit. I'll be travelling alone, so would prefer to go on a proper bus tour so as to always be with other travellers. Does anyone know any good trip companies?
