I know that adult passports are good for 10 years, how about children?

In the UK you need a passport from the day you are born if you wish to travel abroad. It last for 5 year. once you turn 16 you can apply for a 10 year passport.

The 5 years is correct, however a childs passport is from age 15 and down. All persons, even infants need a passport to travel abroad.

I think U.S. passports are valid for 5 years for all children aged 2-18 but I'm not 100% sure.
