I want to go on holiday this next month and am very undeceided about the best spot. i have narrowed it down to Florida,St. Petes Beach, St. Petersberg, or Cozmel. If anyone has stayed either place opinion and recommendations needed...

Yes...lose the hat, make you look like you are trying to hard.
As to your question, go to Cozumel. The best vacations are always out of the country and in Cozumel you can visit the ancient Mayan ruins not too far away (they are on the list of possible inclusion for the revised 7 wonders of the modern world). Also a big plus is your money goes much further in Mexico.
