This is dependent on what country you are in. Given that you used the word 'holiday' rather than 'vacation', I would assume you are not in the US or Canada (passports in either of these countries are currently taking upwards of 12 weeks). Most countries will process a passport in about 4 weeks, providing that you sent all the correct information and nothing is missing. I would recommend you contact the passport office though just to make sure. You may need to pay extra to have it rushed though.

You can put in a rush order, but currently passports are being delayed because they've got an overwhelming amount of applications. Expect anywhere from 3 months to 4 months or so. Unless you asked for rapid service, which takes less time. Even then, it will take some time.

So no, it won't arrive in 6 weeks.

No.

Passports take between 12-15 weeks every since the beginning of the year.

You should have paid and had it expedited, that only takes 2-3 weeks. You now need to contact the passport office and do just that.

My grandparents applied for their passports 5 months ago and still haven't received them...You can have it expedited, but it is about 140$...just a heads up...

You need to contact the adminsitrator and have them put a rush on it. I did the same thing and got mine in about 6 weeks. You can put a rush at the time of the application at the post office.
