Travel - 18 September 2007

I plan to travel to these countries during my winter holiday (end of January to mid February) but am a bit worried that cold winds + heavy snow might hinder my travels. Any advice anybody?

I am travelling from Boston is few weeks to L.A to take the LAPD test. I was wondering if is there any other option besides a taxi to get from the airport to any motel in the vicinity of E. Temple Street in Los Angeles where the test is taken. Are there trains from the airport ? Any help is appreciated.

Can someone please tell me if there are similarities between synagogues and mosques? I know that in both, men and women pray separately.

What is the atmosphere in a mosque like - for instance do services ever have a humorous slant? Sometimes in synagogue they can do.

Is any part of the mosque service in English?

Are there different types of mosque, the way we have various sorts of synagogue (Reform, Progressive, Conservative etc)?

I've been to lots of countries in western europe, and am currently living in Russia, for this winter holiday, I plan to backpack through some of the countries in eastern europe. Can someone list me some good tourist destinations?

I have Prague in my mind already, and maybe Bran and Brasov in Romania. What about other countries?

Should I take the A train from JFK, transfer to the BDFV at Washington Square, and then get off at the Rockefeller Center stop?

Or, the AirTrain to Jamaica - Sutphin, get on the E train and get off at 5th Ave?

I typically take a cab, but wanted to experience travel on public transportation there. I'm from Chicago, so I always take the Blue line to O'hare. I hear that Chicago's is better to/from the airport, but NY's is better once you get to Manhatten.

My family will be visiting Houston to attend a wedding and will have a free day to explore the city. We are staying in Uptown Houston/Galleria area so we already know about the Galleria mall, we will most likely spend the most time there. I am leaving for my first cruise in 11 days (not that I am counting...) on the Liberty of the Seas with RCCL. Has anyone been on this ship before? It looks like there is so much to do, that I don't want to waste time on things that aren't fun. What was your favorite think to do on the ship?

I and my bf will visit to San Francisco on this Oct. We are looking for a hotel , motel ,or Inn to stay in S.F..
Is there any place is safe , lowest price(around $40 per ninght), private room(private bathroom),and near the city college of San Francisco?
