Public transportation from L.A airport to downtown L.A?

Public transportation from L.A airport to downtown L.A?

I am travelling from Boston is few weeks to L.A to take the LAPD test. I was wondering if is there any other option besides a taxi to get from the airport to any motel in the vicinity of E. Temple Street in Los Angeles where the test is taken. Are there trains from the airport ? Any help is appreciated.

you do know you asking this in the NYC section right???? Try the LA section; you could an answer quicker being they would know about that.
