i want to buy few plasma tvs, cameras, camcorders etc, i heard that if i cancel and go i can carry everything. appreciate your inputs

It might be a good idea to send them using the many door to door cargo services. They have big cargo boxes. You can add a few to your luggage like smaller items but you have to find out more info about customs and reliability ( at your airport there) with goods etc.. Cancelling your visa has nothing to do with how much you can take.

I think you might want to contact the Indian customs people to see if you have to fill out any documents and to estimate what customs duties you'll have to pay when you return to India. You could check this with the Indian High Commission/Embassy at the UAE.

In this regard you can avail the TR facility (transfer of residence) for customs duty exemption. Contact the Indian embassy in Dubai for more details. Bear in mind that you cannot able to travel outside India for one year if you availed the TR facility.
