Travel - 10 August 2007

I'm interested in packing up and moving to Buenos Aires from the US, at least for a few months to a year or so. Is there anyone here who has done it who would have some tips and hints? Like where/how to get cheap plane tickets, best time of year to travel there, good parts of town to live in, etc. Tell me your story.

I love walking and exploring when I travel. Will not really shop but just visit those areas. I want to see the nature, the nice parks and buildings. In 9 days, how should I divide my time between those 3 countries?

I have a twelve hour layover in Amsterdam on my way to Italy. I would like to "day trip" Amsterdam from the airport.

Two questions:

1. Is there a place to leave hand carry luggage? If not, what can I do with it?

2. Transport from the airport- how far to the sites, price, etc?

3. Is this even feasible with the time I have?

I have no grand delusion that I will absorb the whole of Dutch culture in less than one day but was wondering if I could dip my toes in. I'm an art nerd so the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh would probably be my biggest interests.

Since Jet-Airways have started their North American sector this August, and also will be starting other Routes , LA to Shanghai and SanFriscisco to Shanghai , + Toronto to Mumbai etc - I would like those who have travelled or those with some knowledge about this airline to answer this question.
Do you think they will have good loads? Will this airline be able to continue as the world economy is going thru quite a crunch , as one reads from the papers as well as other media.
I understand this airline is doing well in the Domestic sector but will it enjoy the same for the international routes?
Will the Indians living in North America support the airline? or will they prefer other airlines for their traveling needs?
would you travel with this airline ? If so your reasons please.

I currently am in the point in my life where I have to choose where to go to school. I have heard good things about the University of Washiongton Seattle and would like to know if its a good school to go to. I know next to nothingabout Seattle though besides the whole "it rains a lot". I want to know more about it by hearing it from people who acutally live in or ahve been to Seattle.
