I am myself looking to go from Bangkok to Singapore in train.

You will get very good answers in the Thailand's train site.

There are different fares related with the class of your seat, with bed or not.

For example: if you leave Bangkok on Monday 14:45, you will be in Singapore on Wednesday at 10:50 ... then 2 days on the road with some stops.
