That is not true - go do a Google search on Kampung Baru. This new village with an almost 100% Indian population was 'terrorised' by a bunch of Mat Rempits. The police didn't do ANYTHING and no one has been charged for assault. A number of Indian men were badly beaten up and some were slashed. A book written by an Arulmugam in Tamil, has been banned - he works in a local NGO (Suaram) so he is very knowledgeable on this country's issues.

There are also a few prominent activitists. Sivarasa Rasiah, PKR Vice-President is a prominent lawyer besides being an activist. P. Uthayakumar, another prominent lawyer who takes up cases where people have been beaten up by the police. Uthaya was in fact threatened so much (to the extent that acid was thrown on his car in broad daylight in KL outside his firm) that he had to seek asylum in UK. Now he is back though, because the police have agreed to settle with him in court.

So don't conclude that Indians do not care and do not speak up.

I find that such probs is more obvious in the Peninsular. I remember in school, the were people from the Peninsular who came over to stay in my school in Kota Kinabalu (Malay, Chinese and Indian) because there was an MSSM and they were ridiculing each other. My friends and I find that very strange. In Sabah and Sarawak, everyone gets along very well. My dad's best friends are Chinese and Indians, my closest friend is Chinese. I don't thing the Indians don't care to voice out or anything like that, because I've heard them say thier opinion when they're comfortable and maybe they like to mind their own business. And really, this is just my opinion and from what I see from being friends with every other race in the world.

There's this quote from unwikipedia, a parody article about Malaysia. it says:

if its a Malay problem, its national problem
if its a Chinese problem, its racial problem
if its an Indian problem, its not a problem

again, its just a parody. Don't take it seriously. =)

i don't know any serious facts. But you know, there are many factors that can play into this problem. One simple one is self pity.

Go figure it. people always have this self pity mentality, thinking their community is struggling and the other is oppressing them. If the other side have the same mentality, this is what we get.

We just need to accept the fact that everyone will be bias towards their own race, and get over it. And when I say bias, it means in terms of helping own race, NOT oppressing other race and make their life miserable. We're lucky we don't have such problem here, unlike other country where people are killing each other.

Don't go about self pitying, just do your best and don't blame others on our shortcoming. Everyone have their own shortcoming.

Well, I'm a Indian and u know how i feel about this govt. I mean the govt. The whole of BN is corrupted. They monopoly everything. They tell u they do this do that, yes, but at the end of the day we still have to pay for the rest of our life. It should be one party and that party should be for all Malaysians. Not 5 in 1 and at the end of the day the 5 parties makan among themselves. Macam ini sampai mati pun tak cukup 5 parti ini makan.

Why Indian are silence? At Sarawak, Indian is minority. I can't give you a good answer. I guess is, the major of Indians are not business minded. Correct if I am wrong, most of Indians are still working at the plantation. If more of they are proper educated, I believed they will raise their voice.

despite if what namwee do its incorrect regardless of the undeniable fact that it is no longer that severe until eventually contain ISA or chief of police. why do the ISA do some thing like avert terrorist and substantial crime and end spending time catching small potato. What i think of is the new child-kisser is purely too comfortable and attempt to guard their "rice bowl". what the namewee says has some fact on it noticeably the corruption section. i trust ZUNA one component, no longer all malay reward from UMNO. others like MCA, MIC and the contest events is doing it to guard their rice bowl purely no longer something extra.

they voice out silently...have you ever heard... 'air yg tenang jgn disangka tiada buaya'... they have their own political party...where they can plan, voice out their opinion e.g PPP( parti progresif penduduk ) lead by m.kayveas......from there its an example Indians don't wanna create any scene or Internet war, its just waste of time, point is, target delivered. we, Malaysian, Malay and Chinese fighting bitching cursing to each other while Indians laugh at us...it's such a shame....for us Malaysian to fight of such racial issues...
