I've got a 5 months languages scholarship in Porto, Portugal (Oct-Febr). The problem is, I don't exactly like the way Portuguese sounds (though Romanian is a Romanic language too, and I'm supposed to learn Portuguese easily), and I'm wondering...is it worth the effort? How Portuguese people, environment and likestyle are like?

I get home from work and like to take a shower and as soon as I get in the shower they call and I don't even know where this number is from, never seen it before. When I answer they hang up. why do they call me I don't owe any bills.
202 607 2806 when I call them back no one answers.

Without exception, every time i have travelled through LAX i have found the immigration staff to be miserable and rude, they always talk to me as if i'm a criminal (which i'm not), they couldn't even be pleasant to my young children on a recent trip. But when i've been through Chicago O'hare airport, i've found them pleasant. They must put something in the water in LA! Or is it that they're on a "power" trip?
