Also, I have looked around and none seem to make reference to senior citizen discounts, does this exist for them?

If they have a senior citizen pass make sure they bring it, as in several European countries the age limit for such a pass is still 65, but passes are mostly honoured, even if they are younger.
It might be worth getting a pass just for that.

Go to Raileurope.com
I noticed that the Saverpass (2 adults traveling together) is cheaper than the Senior pass in France. Not all passes have discounts for seniors on the Selectpasses, but the Saverpasses are really a good deal if they travel together.

Both sites make references to senior discounts being available. I'm not sure how reliable the sites are to book through. Sometimes too a local travel agent may know some good places to check.
