I had just completed a 5K at USC when the car totally stopped working. No hazard lights, no ability to move onto the shoulder. So there we are, sitting in the right lane, beneath a dark overpass in South Central LA. I'm scrambling to get my son out of the car just in case someone hits us from behind. It was a new car, so I ended up arguing with the dealership/manufacturer and AAA as to who would tow it where. During this the battery in the phone died... So there I am... I have the car seat strapped to my back like a back pack, son in my arms, my friend Chris is carrying the diaper bag, Albie's got some gear from the car and we're trudging down the road to find a telephone. Not very fun!

Don't know about worst place but worst date and time is more like it.

Christmas day 2006 around 9pm. It was longest I've ever eperienced or heard of for a breakdown recovery to get to me- three hrs. I won't mention the company as It can't b directly their fault and it was xmas day!

I suppose I was only around 35 - 40 miles out from where I live. But It was dark cold freezing and not a soul in sight!

Hows that?

Kielder Forest about 20 years ago. We were in the middle of nowhere and it was 11pm, 3 women and a child! Luckily we had a CB radio and a guy came out from Newcastle and got the car going.

I was driving an 18 wheeler and ran out in the middle of the night, on a Sunday night, in a rain storm, on a big hill on I-40 in Tennessee. I tried to let it back up to get it out of the road as much as possible, and the tail of my 53 foot trailer ended up in the road a little. So, i had to flag people over out of that lane for 2 hours to keep people from hitting the rear of my trailer! It was awful!

Many years ago, around 1965 I think and before the roads were changed, I broke down in between the barriers across the runway at Edinburgh airport.
That was scary......and probably not just for me.
