A few years back, while on holiday in L.A., we stopped at this take out pizza place. From the ordercounter, we had a good view of our car. The conversation with the guys behind the counter went something like this:

him: "Nice car."
us: "mm thanks"
him: "Dont' recgonize plates, where ya guys from?"
us: "We are from Alberta."
him: "Where's that?"
us: "A province in Canada."
him: "No sjit? Canada?" pause "Say something in Canadian."

We looked at him, we looked at each other, and busted a gut laughing! My sister then had the bright idea to answer. "We would like to order a pizza, eh!"

I am thinking about going abroad. I live in the UK and I am fairly well travelled. I will be going for two weeks, no particular reason, just to doss around, meet people and see new things. I cannot make my mind up between China and the USA? I have not been to either but at some point will visit both. Which of the two do people think I should visit first?

Also, to make it easy to judge for the ten points. As both places end with an 'a', ten points to the person with the most a's in thier answer.

Thanks.

Because truthfully anyone with imagination could come up with endless infinite possibilities for doing anything (including hurting people).

Also, if humans can kill with their hands what stops them then (ever hear of Martial Arts)? They can’t ban humans from flying now can they?

I recently had to fly back home during the restriction. Guess what I found out?

One, I was allow to take my electronics (my digital camera, my laptop, my electric cords). Think, use your brain. What does electronics have? They have Batteries! What’s inside of batteries? Liquids! What stops someone from opening up the battery and purring in their liquid of choice? Nothing! They didn’t even tell me to turn on my electronics, therefore they don’t know if the batteries work or not! Walla the terrorists still have a way of using their liquids, and I am deprived of my munchies (snack food) and STILL run a possibility of dieing by a crazy person or airplane malfunction. Oh yeah not to mention if you have a Dell laptop with those messed up batteries the airplane runs a risk of being set on fire (ever thought of that, that’s not even a terrorist!).

Two, apparently tacks are allowed. Even wood sticks are allowed even if sharpened at the end (I took a home made shish-kabob stick made from a twig, that my Grandpa made for me to grill my veggies, it would of broke in my check baggage)! Ok, as a little kid I recall if you roll up a piece of paper, then put something in it (like a tack) you can blow it like a dart gun! Ok tacks might be deadly, who knows… but I saw on the National Geographic channel (at my grandparents place) that there’s this little frog that’s so poisonness that they can rub a dart on it and it’ll kill anything (including humans). Thus the tacks can be laced with poison.

So, do people think the restriction / rules are as pointless as I do?

Okay a little history - lived in Quebec my whole life and I'm an Anglo "English speaking" (I actually find it funny when I travel outside on Quebec and they say "Wow, for a Quebecer your English is amazing!" - kinda cute)

Not many people are aware of a little thing that happens in Quebec and I want to know if you know about this and if you agree / disagree with it.

In Quebec French is predominate and the English language is viewed as inferior. Stores MUST have French signs displayed and if English is on the sign... the French wording has to be at least TWICE the size of the English.

We actually have "police" (paid by taxpayers) that go around and hand out fines to stores/bars/restaurants etc if they violate this law. (can actually be a few THOUSAND dollars)

When working in retail, you must address the customer in French before English. (there are SOME not all French speakers that demand that they are only served by employees fluent in French.)

Is this extreme?
