i own a few handguns already but some of the starter pistols i have seen onlne are soo much cheaper and look really nice. i want a gun just to dick around with at my hunting camp without risking some of my more expensive/powerful guns....and i like the revolver style .22 guns better for when im in the woods....the semi auto just seems too civilized. how hard would it be to convert a starter pistol to fire live rounds. i am an auto mechanic so im pretty good with my hands and power tools. im not concerned with legality because i live in a rural area and i only see the police about 3 times a year. thx for the replys

I need some help from all my fellow anglers out there about catching Carp.As some of you know & have seen the pics of my other catches of Bass & Bluegill in the pond I fish in,I have yet to snag one of the huge Carp there.I've been trying just about all I know & still none caught to post.I've almost been tempted to jump in & wrestle one in! lol But that just wouldn't be fishing. So,my question is, what baits or lure have you used that were successful? Any other technique that proved useful? We're going tomorrow & any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance & happy fishing all!

I'm about 10 weeks pregnant and buck season just opened up today here in Oregon. My question is: Can I go hunting this season while I'm pregnant? My husband is willing to "carry" anything back that i get, but I'm not sure if I can shoot them myself. My concerns would be the kickback, powders and smells of the powders from the gun. I don't have a dr apt for another 2 weeks and being the weekend, I won't hear anything back until Monday evening. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks for your opinions in advance!

I'm in school in Amherst, MA, and my friends and I really want to go camping sometime in October, but we don't know where to go. We're interested in campsites that are relatively cheap, but nice, that will allow ~six 18 year olds to camp. Preferably less than an hours drive away from Pioneer valley. Thanks in advance!

I was just wondering if anyone has shot this gun and could tell me about the recoil...? I am a little apprehensive because it is a little lighter than what I am used to shooting and a 4"inch barrel comared to my .45 XD Tactical. Thanks in advance...

I want a pistol for plinking in my yard, something really weak and preferably quiet!
As a backstop I'm using large boxes filled with blankets, but I don't want a chance of penetration, any ideas? Thanks!

At the moment I'm leaning towards the remington, it seems to use higher quality products and is put together well. As far as
the Mossberg coming with pistol grips extra, they might look cool, but in my opinion have no business being on a 12ga. shotgun. The mossberg is 8+1 I think. The Remington 6+1, but they offer an extension a +2 extension or so have been told, what's the facts?

I have a Marlin 336 CS in .35 Remington caliber I intend to sell and was told by a supposedly knowledgable gun dealer it has to be at least a 1985 model or newer since that was when Marlin began using that type safety. I am certain I bought this gun WELL before 1980. Can anyone tell me when the cross bolt safety was introduced on these guns?

WHich round would be better suited for plinking/self defence, the .25 or .32?
Even though the .32 is bigger, wouldn' the .25 go faster? Everyone alaways says velocity kills!
(Also, about how expensive is a pistol in either caliber?)
Thanks!

I would prefer to have a Colt but those are very hard to get today. I am looking for another good manufacturer of the AR-15. I have so far checked out Bushmaster and Olympic Arms.

Found a modified Saiga in .223 for sale and wanted some help in trying to determine if the price they are asking is for is OK. The modifications include the pistol grip and the repositioning of the trigger in a more traditional AK setup. It has a 16"3/4 barrel and the standard 10 round mag. What would be a resonable price to pay?

Also, from what I have read, it seems that the Saiga is better in quality than the Romanian WASR. Does anyone know how it compares the Yugo that is currently for sale in the market?

Can anyone comment on experience with the .223 v/s the 7.62 model. Is there a significant difference as far as the reliability and performance of the rifle?

Thanks!!!

I have a 5 year old Beauceron (french cattle dog). My sister raised her, but can no longer take care of her. When I take her to the park, she naturally sniffs out rabbits, and points at them. I've always wanted to take her hunting, but I took her shooting once, she got spooked, and now she will not walk with me if I am holding a gun. She gets spooked by thunder and firecrackers.

I've been wanting to go camping for some time now in the Upper west side of the U.S. like Montana/Oregon. But I don't want to stay in an RV parks or Cabin lots. I want to actually camp, not fake-camp. Ya know? I'm looking for an area that has fishing, nice scenery, boating, maybe waterfalls. That sort of thing.

Anybody know anything? Can you help? I looked on Google and found a Camping website but again it's only the RV Parks and such. No real camping.

Kind of want it secluded with no one around.

I would like to know the difference between the Glock 23 and 23C models in terms of:

1. Concealability (I have heard the c model is not as good for concealability...is this correct?).
2. Recoil
3. Price
4. Anything else of significance

Thanks!

I don't want to join the military. I don't want to kill anyone or anything, but I'm a very good shot. I have a Daisy TargetPro 953 air rifle. At best, a very basic competition rifle. I have upgraded the sights to the same rear as Daisy Avanti 853 and a similar front sight, for less than 1/2 the cost of the Avanti 853.
In informal local competition, I've beaten people with guns that cost 2-3x what mine did. I've even beaten people with scopes.
I don't know why, I'm just good at 10 meter air rifle. Out of a possible 600 score (60 target) I find myself getting typically 520-540. I have shot a 572. That's getting into Olympic scores.
Shooting takes patience, self control and hand-eye coordination. I'm not sure how being a good shot can be put on my resume. Thanks.

Ok, so I recently bought a new Magnum Research Baby Eagle compact in 9mm about, say, 3 months ago. This very first time I shot it was about 3 weeks after that. I was using BLAZER Ammuniton and it shot great, no jams, no anything bad; I shot 100 rounds thru it. So the next time I take it out is about 1 month after that. I shot 78 rounds of Winchester White Box ammo. It had one jam, and two or three failures of the slide to go all the way forward. That happened within the first 40 rounds. After that it once again shot flawlessly.

So then today I take it out with some more Winchester White Box ammo and shoot 130 rounds through it. Within the first 50 rounds, it had one hard jam and about 2 flaiures of the slide to go all the way forward. After that it ONCE AGAIN shot flawlessly.

I am skeptical about using BLAZER 9mm ammunition because I heard it wasn't too good for your pistol. Something about being bad for the extractor or something? Is this the fault of my Baby Eagle or is it

Airsoft is about realism and simulation, the only thing keeping airsoft back from total physical realism is the stupid orange tip on the front of the barrel. can you please tell me how to cover it up or take it off. and if i take it off will i be able to put it back on? the tip isnt really that necesary if you handle the gun with care, and be mature about taking the gun out in public. i figured if i just cover the tip with black tape the inside of the tip will still be showing. Im afraid that if i spray paint it, it will cause friction and slow the BB down or affect accuracy.
