Best places to go camping from Amherst, MA?

I'm in school in Amherst, MA, and my friends and I really want to go camping sometime in October, but we don't know where to go. We're interested in campsites that are relatively cheap, but nice, that will allow ~six 18 year olds to camp. Preferably less than an hours drive away from Pioneer valley. Thanks in advance!

Michigan is definitely not less than an hours drive away from Massachusetts.

I would try a state park.
