Is finding the right bait/lure more important?

OR Is finding the area where the fish ARE more important?

Perhaps, sometimes we get so "geared-up" finding "the perfect lure/bait-rig", that we don't see the "obvious" reason we are out on the lake/saltwater marsh/ocean!

Although I do like to experiment & try new tactic's & "gear", I sometimes catch myself trying TOO many tactic's & lures! Thats when I say to myself, "Self, you got the right lure, just the wrong spot!"

I know it's important to have appropriate lures/bait, but if I'm fishing for Bass, Smallies, Brim, Northern's, Walleye's, I would prefer to know "where they are" over what their gonna eat!

I think that having a map of the lake/water your gonna fish is MUCH more important than having a 35 LB tackle box.

Would you agree?

I'm thinking of purchasing a Glock 26 or 17 to use for home defense, and I want to use ammo that doesn't penetrate easily as I live in an apartment with my child. I've heard that hollow-point bullets are often best for this, but I've also heard there are bullets with a gel tip that don't exit or ricochet at all - what kind of bullets are these, who makes them, and do gun shops commonly carry them? If there's no such thing - what's the best bullet to use to make sure no shots go through any walls?

I am looking to get a handgun. I am reading alot of good things about the 1911. My question is what is the difference between all the differnent makers? They all say .45 1911 but the prices range from like $450 to $1500. I was looking at the Springfield 1911 Milspec 5" 45ACP SS W/Holster for $657, Springfield GI .45 1911-A1 Stainless for $490, and the TAURUS PT1911 .45 ACP PISTOL IN STAINLESS STEEL for $533. What is the difference? Using it at the range and for home protection.

This might sound stupid, but can you buy them online?
I'm looking for a gun to protect myself...but I dont want it to shoot bullets...cause I wouldnt ever want to kill someone. I know they have ones that shoot bean bags...some shoot smelly stuff to make a predator stay away/not be able to breathe really well, etc. What are other types? And can I buy any of them online?

I've seen on the news an asian carp heading up the mississippi river and has been stopped before getting into lake michigan. Has there been any cases of them getting into lake michigan yet and how long are we going to be able to keep them out?

I am wanting a new deer rifle. I'm thinking either a new england handi rifle or a rossi single shot. I was wanting a 25-06. Im pretty sure that new england makes 25-06's but i dont think rossi does. If u do know let me know. Also, whoever that owns or have owned a rossi or new england rifle please tell me what you thought about them. From what i've read on here it doesnt sound like new england rifles shoot to good. like 1 inch groups or sumthing like that. So if u have one let me know how it shoots. If i was going to get a rossi, i would probably get a 270 or a 270/12 gauge combo because i dont think rossi makes 25-06's but im not for sure so let me know if you know.

I have narrowed my selection down to a few candidates:

Glock 21
Glock 22
Glock 23

Beretta PX4C

Springfield XD 4"
Sprindfield XD 5"

I like Glock the best, and am leaning towards that. If you have any favorable opinions about the others, I would appreciate hearing why. Thanks!

I have a 12-guage shotgun, but it is sawed off, so I wanted to get a handgun for home protection and shooting at the range. I want something in a silver finish for under $500. Reliable with stopping power. Not looking to carry it so it doesn't have to be compact.
