I have narrowed my selection down to a few candidates:

Glock 21
Glock 22
Glock 23

Beretta PX4C

Springfield XD 4"
Sprindfield XD 5"

I like Glock the best, and am leaning towards that. If you have any favorable opinions about the others, I would appreciate hearing why. Thanks!

The Liist: I appreciate your input. As a note, I own a Sig 229, and I must say I am pleased overall by the reliability and accuracy, but the trigger pull is simply too heavy as it is DAO

depends what your hand is formed like. the springfield XD in .45ACP fits my hand well and points naturally. since i have no interest in concealing it and like a little more velocity and accuracy i like the 5 inch model. i like the high capacity as well. its not that i feel i need more than 10 rounds, its that i dont like anyone trying to tell me i can only have 10 rounds.

I have all 3 of the Glocks you have listed and I don't have a complaint about any of them as for reliability and accuracy. The only thing about the Glock 21 though, is that it does have a large grip and can be uncomfortable to those with small hands. My favorite is the Glock 22. It is real comfortable in the hand, reliable, and shoots straight. What more could you want in a pistol.

Of the Glocks, I would rank them in this order 22, 21, and 23. Now if you are going for concealment, of the 3 Glocks, the 23 would be better.

Personally I'd go for a Glock 21 SF. I don't care for Berettas and I feel the XD line is a bit overpriced considering they're just a re- badged HS 2000.

The Springfield XD in 45 ACP would be my choice. For concealing, the 4 inch barrel version is just slightly smaller than the 5 incher.

I would pick either G21 or G22

I just got a Sig Sauer P226 on Saturday and I can tell you that I'm more satisfied with that than my Glock 17.

You should consider a Sig Sauer P226 in .40 S&W before you buy, unless you already checked it out.

I'm not a big fan of the xX4 line from Beretta but it's not all that bad.

Living in a country where no one is allowed arms ( apart from Drug dealers and the police) I have no strong views. What criteria would apply?
- reliability
- power ( impact effect,range,accuracy)
- threat level ( will other armed ppl back down when faced with it)
- weight ( I handled an old Browning 45 once , Christ it was heavy!)
- Magazine size ? pros/cons?
Seems as if I answered tour question with some others!!
Go Well D.M.

Just as an FYI: the majority of Glocks do NOT have manual safeties. This may not be an issue for you, but I just wanted to let you know.

(I also prefer revolvers. If you are looking for a concealed-carry, super-lightweight, check out the Taurus Model 85 titanium. Only 13oz.)

I would get the Glock 22 or SA XD 5" in 40SW. Save 45ACP for a good 1911. POlymer is great for 40SW.

The only negative thing that I have heard about a Glock is that idiots tend to shoot themselves with them, because there is usually no safety. I do not imagine that is likely to be a problem for you Dead Marxist.

Personal opinion?
