Topps released special edition insert baseball cards of santa clause. and they're autographed. I'm wondering if anyone significant actually signed for santa, or is it just some shmuck at the topps factory forging Chris Cringle's signature.

do you think theo will send out ellsbury (an actual candidate for last years world series mvp & next years potential rookie of the year) for johan santana. i know johan is good, but do the sox really need another starter? (esp. at the cost of such a great player). they already got beckett, schilling, dicek, lester?, wakefield, and bucholz comin up.

Yankees offer:
-RHP: Phil Hughes
-CF: Melky Cabrera
-pitching prospect

Red Sox offer:
-CF: Jacoby Ellsbury
-Minor league SS: Jed Lowrie (Who?)
-pitching prospect

I believe the Yankees have the better offer for the Twins because Hughes and Melky have more regular season experience. Hughes came on early June and Melky took over center field from Johnny Damon of all people.. granted he throws like a girl. Ellsbury and Lowrie are unproven in the long run.

Reports indicate that the Red Sox, if they include Ellsbury in the deal, they will retract Jon Lester. That action alone by Red Sox management might have cost them Johan. That might have just been a ploy to see if Hank and Cash would up the ante. Nice try Theo..

Personally, I was very angry. They traded away a 5 tool potential superstar for a below average catcher and a decent outfielder. They should have kept Milledge and tried to develop him.

This is the only item on my husbands Christmas list.
If he didn't have such a big head, this wouldn't be an issue. I've checked every website I could find and there are none bigger than 7 5/8.

It looks like another 100 years before the Cubs win another World Series. Cubs are a top 5 market team and if they believe they can win it with Zambrano and Lilly you got to be joking me. It is not fair the fans of Chicago have to sit back and watch a change of ownership while other teams are out trying to make their club better. Granted 300 million was added to the payroll last season, what did that prove? A first round loss against Arizona. We should atleast have been mentioned to make some noise for the guy. Oh well, I guess we'll just engrave the lovable losers isignia for the rest our lifes.

I doubt that will ever happen but i have heard rumors that the NFL would love to try that one day with the Super Bowl. Do u think MLB would ever try that with the World Series & if so would u be willing to order it?

ESPN.com just reported that the RED SOX have upped the offer to include Jacoby Ellsbury in the trade for Johan Santana but will remove Jon Lester from the deal : http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3138088

Earlier the same website said that the TWINS were not "impressed" with the Yankees offer including Hughes and if the RED SOX upped their offer it would most likely be a deal breaker in the SOX favor.
What does everyone think about it. I'd personally rather they include Buchholtz in the deal instead because I think that Ellsbury is the spark this team needed for the playoffs and willl help take them to another WS title in '08'.

We all know that The Cubs haven't won a WS in 99 years.
Before the white sox won in 2005, it had been 88 years. If it takes another 88 years for the white sox to win, can The Cubbies win one before then?

Johan Santan or Jaba / Hughes?? Because if you say Johan, then you better understand why a trade for the best pitcher in baseball is worth giving up an unproven prospect.
