Jeter ,Rivera, Pettitte, Posada, Bernie Williams, Mattingly, Thurmon Munson,
Ralph Terry, Guidry,Don Larson, Berra, Joe Gordon, Meusel, Dent ,Rizzuto
Gehrig,Lazzeri ,Dimaggio, Mantle, Lefty Gomez , Koenig ,Earl Combs. All home grown. When You develop talent like that and hold on to it you can afford to fill
your holes from within and upgrade if necessary with Ruth ,
Roger Clemens (I know you redsox fans hated those 2) ,Reggie Jackson ,
Paul Oneil, Tino Martinez , David Cone ,David Wells , Dave Winfeild and Graig Nattles. You don't win 26 championships by carelessly spending money. You
have to develop talent hold onto the good talent and be willing to fill holes. When the opportunity comes to up grade a position if you're not endangering
your future you do it.You also have to be willing to get rid of players on the decline. You have to cut dead weight you also have to utilize what you have and not be so easily ready to give up on players to win now because that never works.
