I'm partial to the Indians but I'll settle for the Yankees . I love both Plus Steinbrenner is from Cleveland so I win either way.

neither, but far more likely the indians than the yankees
there is no doubt now where the power lies in the american leaugue, the indians are one of the powerhouses, based on sabathia and carmona alone, though they do have a good offense as well
after that amazing trade noone can doubt that the tigers are up at the top of the american league, at least talent wise
the red sox, we all know are elite, though maybe we hate to admit it
and the angels, even if they dont get a power hitting third basemen are as well
the al playoffs should feature those four teams and its going to be a very exciting and probably very drawn out al playoffs next season, any one of those four could do it, could get to the world series, where some hapless nl team will await a solid thumping at the hands of whoever survives the al
but it sure wont be the yankees

I'm a tiger fan and to be honest, I think the Yanks (pending any dealings) should not be included in this battle. It's going to go between Boston (if they get Santana forget it, they'll own the AL), Indians and after yesterday's trade the Tigers. These three look to be the elite teams of the AL right now. If the Yanks get Blanton or Haren then the Yanks will be serious contenders again.
