I think he'll definitely hit the AL! If he beats the charges of lying to the grand jury, will they have a separate trial based upon the charges of drug use?
I believe he still has enough to perform as a DH but if he's signed, he better be thankful for being able to play and change a new leaf by treating his fans and peers a whole lot better.

I have no clue where he would play. I certainly wouldn't sign him.
Aside from the fact he's a famous black athlete his case is nothing like OJ's. I don't particularly like Bonds, but it's an unfair categorization to lump his situation and OJ's together. Double homicide and lying to a grand jury about steroids are not the same caliber of crime.

The trial isn't currently stopping him from getting signed to a team. It is definately a hinderance, but teams are simply using it as a bargaining chip. Any contract he signs for the rest of his career will have a 100% reimbursement clause if he goes to jail during his contract year(s).
I think he will play for the Oakland A's at around $6-8 million a year(and get away with using steroids, pergury and anything else he did wrong).

If his case goes to trial -- no sure thing -- it probably won't convene until after the 2008 season is over, which is just the pace at which such federal cases move.
There is no binding reason any team cannot sign Bonds. There are a couple of huge, intangible reasons, but a .450 OBP and .550 SLG at a reasonable, seven-figure price can overcome a lot of misgivings and fan outcry.
Whichever team does sign him could have "Barry Bonds Voodoo Doll Night" once per homestand to boost ticket sales. Get yer Li'l Barry (with oversized head, for the cheap laffs) with large (yet safe) Punishment Pin and jab, jab, jab away. Or, for added fun, include a pair of pliers marked Dept. O' Justice and decide where to clamp down on Li'l Barry for maximum suffering.

There will be no decision on Bonds until long after the start of the 2008 season, and I don't see any team taking a chance on him and how their fans may react. I really believe his career is over.

It's exactly like oj. Another black athlete will be let off despite obvious evidence of his guilt, just to avoid a riot. Where he will play is another thing. I see Oakland or Anaheim as a possibility.

i think its safe to say that he will get found guilty but will just get a slap on the wrist, however, even if he did get off, i see no team being willing to touch him with a 10foot pole anymore
