Well it's already a large chance for them to win the World Series without Johan Santana, but It would be a huge advantage, and it would be such a domination in the Regular season and Playoffs, if Beckett, Schilling, Santana, and even Matsuzaka were in the same pitching rotation.

Of course they're are other strong teams out there that can win the Pennant and get to the World Series. Many teams are able to beat the Red Sox, and no matter what, they will always be in danger of losing a big ball game. I wouldn't count on seeing any teams this year coming back and winning 100 games if they won 70 last year, because the Red Sox, Yankees, Indians, and Angels will make sure of those teams losing.

It's strictly complicated of analzying this matter, because of all the specified teams that are able to come out on top.

A very good chance even if they didn't get Johan Santana. The chances would be even greater if they did though.

They are one of the elite few teams with or without Santana and will be a playoff contender in 2008.

unfortunately they wont go and get santana... =/
they dont even need him, i think the rookie they had last year (clay bucholz) that started two games for the sox will be a very good player... in his first start, he pitched a one hitter...

i cant wait to see how much jacoby ellsbury and dustin pedroia improve! they better hold on to them because these two can really play some ball....

GO RED SOX!
