I don't have a big beef with ESPN except that their coverage is really predictable. If even the slightest (and I emphasize slightest) little incident happens with a big market team, it's lead news for days. It's sickening. I don't want to hear about how the Patriots won ANOTHER game, or how A-Rod got caught in a strip club. Those are boring stories that even most non-sports fans are aware of, so why the hell do actual sports fans watching the show want to hear about it again? It makes no sense.
My favorite team has long been the St. Louis Cardinals, and they get snubbed by ESPN quite a bit. My Blues (who are doing amazing this year too) have had about 10 seconds of air time thus far. The Rams winning 3 of their last 4? Oh, that doesn't matter because they were bad for the first half. They pander to the fair-weather fan in reality. If they bring back hockey I'll give them some slack, but right now they're milking FREE college athletics and the NFL for all they're worth and it disgusts me.

I'm a big New England sports fan. I love the red sox and the patriots, but I also like the pittsburg pirates and I agree that other teams don't get a lot of coverage, but I can't really judge for ESPN since I don't get that channel. I'm stuck in the stone ages w/ just local rabbit ear channels. Basically I only get to watch whatever baseball comes on FOX during the summer and then the world series. It sucks.

I've been a Braves fan my entire life, but we have TBS so I never really have to fall back on ESPN. Boston and New York get such a percentage of the news coverage because they're constantly at the top of the league. If the White Sox had a headline bigger than Ozzie's latest stint in anger management they'd have a bit more face time.

Phillies! But there is a huge bias from ESPN. The Phillies are a big market team so i get lucky sometimes when the Phils play the Mets, but ESPN is Yankees vs. Red Sox Network, and it's a shame cause there are 28 other teams in MLB!

I agree. It's Yankees this, Red Sox that. When a player does something really great, they might go over it for a little bit, but then it's back to something happening to Boston or New York. I'm a Dodgers fan and ESPN just hates the Dodgers.

I've been a die hard Braves fan since I was old enough to talk. Now that TBS has dropped Braves games from their lineup, I am not sure when I will get to watch a game and ESPN is bias to the NY/BOS teams.

some people seem to think that you shouldn't be a fan of a team if you're not from that hometown or general area. I grew up a pittsburgh Pirate fan living in AZ all my life. I still love my hapless bucs although my loyalty has becom filled with teal and purple since 1998 and much more recent sedona red and tan... The Arizona diamondbacks are my true love now, my home team and they're occasionally good. I still follow the black and gold pilligers day to day. It is okay to grow out of touch with your childhood fave if your new fave has real substance behind the choice. No bandwagon jumpers here all you Yankee and Red Sox fans who grew up loving the royals or angels or expos or padres or whatever crappy team you loved back then!!!!

The Padres have the main honest climate followers. i think of that San Diego has a techniques and away the fairest climate of any MLB city. heavily, regardless of the undeniable fact that, whichever team is prevailing the main might have a ton of honest climate followers. The Yankees, purple Sox and taking part in cards probable do have lots, even regardless of the undeniable fact that that's no longer elementary to tell, on condition that those communities have all been prevailing for the final decade or greater. The honest climate followers have not had an excellent gamble to desert the communities, on condition that they have not misplaced. comparable with the Twins, Angels, and to a lesser quantity, the Phillies. The Cubs probable don't have lots of honest climate followers ideal now, becuase they are no longer prevailing. yet I guess that they had a team 2 years in the past. Realistically, i might say that the Yankees have the main - no longer because of the fact i'm attempting to tear on the Yanks, yet because of the fact of sheer numbers. The Yankees have the main followers era, on condition that they arrive from an excellent city and have had some considerable advertising fulfillment. It stands to reason that with the utmost nubmer of finished followers, that they had probable have the utmost sort of honest climate followers besides.

Yeah, I hate the New York/ Boston bias. I'm a Phils fan, and I root for the White Sox too because I still like Jim Thome.

I am a Yankee fan but I have to strongly agree with you that Bos/NYY get all the press and tv coverage. Being a fan of a team in the rivalry and in the hub of sox nation it is normal to me and everyone alse here. When i really think about it, it is rediculous how much press they get. I knew Joba's dad's aunt had surgeryon her broken pinkey toe before I found out Glavine was a Brave again for example.
