I know the Red Sox have won 8 straight World Series games (04 and 07). I'm just wondering if this is a record or not.

It pains me to say it since I am a Red Sox fan, but the Yankees have won 14 consecutive. They won the last 4 of 1996, swept in 1998 and 1999 and won the first 2 of 2000.

The Yankees in 1996 won four straight (after losing two)...In 98 they won four in a row, in 99 they swept Atlanta, so that's 12...In 2000, they won the first two against the Mets before losing one...So that's 14 straight and the record. So the Sox got some time before they can reach that.

It is indeed 14 (not merely 12) by the Yankees.

The Reds have the longest active streak, nine, from 1975 Game 7 through sweeps in 1976 and 1990.

The Yankees won 14 consecutive WS games in '96, '98-'00. (It was 14 not 12, my counting was wrong)

And the Reds are actually sitting on a 9-game streak right now, although it looks like it might be a while until they have a chance to extend/snap it.
