Keep:
Jeter, Matsui, Posada, Abreu, Wang - build around the core
Rivera (at any cost)
Cano, Cabrera, Hughes - the future of the team
Joba - just keep the gnats away!
... and of course, Joe Torre

Dump:
Damon, Giambi - never wanted them anyway
Pavano - he should return his salary over the last three years
Mussina, Clemens - their careers are over anyway
A-Rod - too expensive, despite his MVP numbers

I've heard some people suggest that the Yanks will fire Torre and grab LaRussa before he gets a chance to resign with St Louis.

LaRussa has gotten 11 teams into the playoffs but has only won 2 World Series. His A's teams lost two world series in which they were heavy favorites. Is this a better playoff track record than Joe Torre (4WS championships in 12 playoff appearances)

his name sounds Hispanic...I shudder to think how good J. R. Richard might have been if he hadn't had the stroke.

Ever since there was the allegation that Joe will be fired if he doesn't come back and win the series that it will be the end of his era. But little do we know, Yankee fans should appreciate him more.......read on.

(A. Jeter - A-Rod

(B. Howard - Utley

(C. Wright - Reyes

I choose A. A-Rod hits 50 homers and Jeter hits for average and fields the postition among one of the best in the league.

Championship. With that in mind think back and put together your All Time Boston Red Sox Team. Include past and present players if you'd like. Include a DH. Give me the top 8 position players and four starting picthers. Also include a short relief and closer. Best answer get the points.

Has there ever been a playoff game not sold out before? Also, does anyone else think this is pathetic? The D-Back fans should show they are real fans and buy the tickets.

I'm a Rangers fan and personally they've made a whole lot of stupid moves the last oh 25 years. Just look at the resent all stars playing in the All Star game this year it was full of former Rangers. Not to mention All Star Chris Young of the San Diego Padres who dominated just about all season and Granderson was in the Rangers minor league system back in the day. Oh yea and we got rid of Pudge so we could afford A-Rod who got traded away the next season for a player who the Rangers let walk in Alfonso Soriano. I'm tired of loosing now we ain't the Cubs yet but heck at least the Cubs made the playoffs this year. Does anyone think there will ever be a turn around in Arlington and if so or if not why......

I'm really excited that the Phillies made it to the playoffs. What are your predictions for next year? More good things to come?

Is it not very sad that the players name dosen't just jump right into your mind. If I ask most stolen bases or home runs everyone would know. I thought it was a team sport but I think the fact that the answer to this question is hard shows us something about baseball.

I was played SS but i was mostly a pitcher with a fastball from 90-94, a 12-6 curveball with late break, a typical changeup, a hard sinker that tops 90 and a slider that turns in on lefties and away from righties like a 2-7, i play summer ball but not like summer league or cape cod

I have been asked many times to do the scorebook for baseball/softball. I know the basics. Of course you circle 1B, 2B, 3B, or HR. and you draw a line around the bases & color it in when they score. When they get out you put a 1, 2, or 3. with a circle. If it is hit to the shortstop and he makes the throw to first and gets the out you put 6-3 and 1 with a circle. If it is a flyout you put F7 or whatever.

But what I need to know is if the batter gets on base what do you put for where he hits it to? say he hits up the middle between the second baseman and shortstop. What do you write for it?

Thank you so much.
