You're definitely right! With his declining power, he still can hit the long ball, and with a short right field fence such as in Minnesota, it will be much easier than the taller, but shorter fence in SF.

I am a Giants fan and I will tell you what I think about Barry Bonds! I will also tell you what you could expect from him after being a fan of his and watching him for 15 years!

He is not the player he used to be. When you turn 44 your body just isn't the same anymore such as run the bases, play the outfield, or being injury prone. However, I do think that he could be of some use to an American League team, especially for one that is a player or 2 from contending.

I think that he can be an effective DH. He might be able to play the outfield every once in a blue moon! He might be able to hit for about .270 to.290 and maybe give you 25 HRs. He could be of some use but his abilities are limited.

He has a reputation for being very selfish. He's used to getting what he wants, an entourage in the locker room, playing whenever he wants, telling the manager where to put him in the lineup, not stretching with the team, bullying and ordering around management and isolating himself from the rest of his teammates.

Forget about winning a championship. He is all about HIMSELF! He is only going to play for 1 season to get his 3,000 hit. He's also going to ask for a TON OF $$$$ so if your team can afford him he might be worth a shot. But beware of some of the baggage that he comes with.

It depends on how much money he'll ask for, but if you can get him for $10 - 15M for one year, it may not be a bad idea.

The Twins haven't gotten much from their DH the previous few years. Bonds will be good for .270 AVG, 25 HRs plus a ton of walks.

The only problem is, you'd have Mauer, Morneau and Bonds as your 3 best hitters and they're all lefties.

No way! Barry Bonds sorta sucks now.

He is nothing he was before. He's getting too old and will retire after next season. I think he wants to finish his career in San Fransisco.

Plus, he has no range to play LEFT field. How can he play RIGHT field?!

Why? Just because he's the homerun king? A-Rod is most likely gonna bounce out of NY, so if ANY team was smart they'd hop on to a contract with him.. As he is gonna pass Bonds, EASILY.. Atleast get him into the NL where he can hit the homeruns.. Thats the only reason Bonds is where he's at.. NL Pitching.. American League is locked shut on their pitching, CC Sabitha, Tim Wakefield, Curt Schilling, Mike Mussina, just to name a few.. He couldn't hit **** off them.. Isringhausen is the easiest pitcher to hit off of.. Or not hit off of.. If you don't get a HR off him you'll atleast get a BB

Don't waste your money--give Tori Hunter his dough or get Andruw Jones-both better bang for your bucks. Bonds would disappoint alot of Twin fans(he would spend half the season on the DL).

Your outfield will have nothing to do with anything since he can barely run from home to 1st, let alone cover ground in the outfield. He will be a DH wherever he ends up.

Him on the basepaths is one issue, but the main issue is him in the locker room. Do you really want that kind of cancer in your locker room? Nobody but the Giants wanted him last off season. Only the Cardinals had even a wimper about him. Expect him to "retire" due to lack of an offer.

He's only good for 110-120 games at best next year, and I think that's even if he's DH'ing. Minnesota doesn't have the payroll where they can even consider going after him, and that's probably a good thing for Twins' fans.
