Mo will have to come back for next season. If they bring Chaimberlain into the closer role which he would excel at, this would shorthand thier rotation which is where they need help at. His ERA in relief apperances is less than .50. . Rivera has done to much for the organization to let go and he could have a bounce back year. Steinbrenner is such a dick always tryin to fire people just because they have one bad year.
Hope that helps!

Well I think if Torre leaves I think the Yankees are doom for next season and Mariano Riveria says he'll leave if Torre's fired and A-Rod already said he's going to opt out of his contract with the yanks . Posada is a gonner and Pettite and Clemens will probably leave. So the Yankees will have some rebuilding to do.

I think if Joe Torre is fired, then a lot of players will leave the organization.
A-Rod has already told his agent that he is opting out of his contract with the Yankees.
Joe Torre was more than just a manager, he had a special relationship with his players.
I think Joe Torre has a lot to be proud of, 4 World Series Championships over a 12 year period. That is better than Tom Lasorda, and any other high profile manager in recent history.

those different relievers were large, yet Rivera ought to be the wonderful ever. a pair of them fingers, Gossage, and Sutter, for a lot of his occupation, pitched distinct innings for saves, which infrequently finished anymore. Rivera is a one-inning guy now, yet until eventually the wonderful few years could oftentimes pitch more desirable than one inning, and a large number of his saves are 2-innings. a large number of human beings ignore that he changed into pitching in his 2d inning in recreation 7 of the 2001 international sequence at the same time as he changed into overwhelmed by using Luis Gonazlez, whom i trust he had struck out the inning earlier. Rivera's saves record isn't touched for a lengthy time period, if ever. the purely guy who has a pragmatic threat as we talk will be Craig Kimbrel, who's 25 and has one hundred fifteen saves, yet he could favor 523 purely to capture Rivera, even with if Mo retired as we talk--and purely 2 adult adult males in heritage have even reached 500 saves, Rivera and Trevor Hoffman. So, the Rivera's record will be damaged easily interior the subsequent 20 years and a number of of alternative pitchers will attain 500 saves? truly? it truly is a few crystal ball you've there. Any fan with effortless experience knows that relievers in many situations have up-and-down careers. some adult adult males have a reliable commence, then flame out (like Francisco Rodriguez), some adult adult males have some sturdy years, then lose their stuff (Heath Bell), and some relievers are journeyman who've one sturdy 365 days, then come back off to earth (Fernando Rodney). I used Kimbrel as an party, because he could have the wonderful threat--yet he could common 50 saves for the subsequent 10 years, which he gained't, and he could nevertheless be short of Rivera. you're making it sound as if it truly is common to pitch purely one inning, yet relievers pitch a large number of video games, warmth up in others the position they don't are available, and no individual has practice as many large years as Rivera. i wager you've been pertaining to my answer and that i did not say no you likely can destroy it, yet that it's going to be a lengthy time period earlier someone does, in the journey that they ever do.

They'll probably go out and get Joe Nathan(he's from NY) or use Chamberlain to close. It will be weird seeing someone else close out Yankee games. I can't really recall a time when Rivera didn't.

He's had way too many close calls in 2007 for my liking. We've got Joba Chamberlain, too, so that's something to build off.
