I cant stand when bad calls are made, especially when they are glaringly obvious... so in that respect, I think instant replay could help in Major League Baseball. On the other hand, I think it would ruin the game if it were overused (not to mention make the games alot longer). Maybe a nice compromise, where it could only be used in certain situations... what do you think?

Indians have been lucky thia year. I sdon'ty care what any indians fans here say if the Tigers didn't have injuries they would have run awya with the division. Indians got no pitching, Borowski sucks and they got no good tsarting pitchig besides Sabathia who is only ok at best. Hitting wise they only have Martinez and the rest of the hitting can't hit out of a peper bag. I guess sweep by Yankees in first round. Tigers 2008 WS Champs

Managed to clinch their division for the 3rd time in four
years, who, besides me, thinks they are World Series-
bound again?
And, if they do make it there... who do you think they'll
be up against?

I have a couple questions for the Red Sox fans...and for anybody else who's ever been to Fenway.

This is a picture of Pesky's Pole:

http://www.redsoxdiehard.com/features/summer99/pics/peskyp.JPG

I just have a few question about this.

1. Knowing that Fenway's right field wall is very small and that Pesky's Pole has this "netting" on the left side of the Pole (see picture). Is there any way that somebody could rob someone of a home run by jumping on top of the wall and climbing the netting to catch the ball? What I mean is...is it phsically possible to do something like this?

2. And if the statement above is possible, is it legal?

Please answer seriously. I'm not kidding around here...it's pretty important for me to find out. Thank you.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Milton Bradly tore his ACL while ARGUING WITH THE UMPIRE? Honestly.....he probably cost the Padres the season....thats just pathetic--should be a great story for him to tell his kids: "yeah, me and the ump got pretty physical"

According to Bobby Meacham (Padres first base coach), Mike Winters was the one who antagonized Milton Bradley on Sunday by calling him a "piece of s___." (www.xxsportsradio.com)

The video of the game (mlb.com) clearly shows Bradley taking his lead off first and paying attention to the game and Winters continuing to talk. This continues for about 10 seconds until Bradley calls "time out" to go to Winters. Meacham can be seen already yelling at Winters. Winters almost immediately ejects Bradley.

Do umpires have the ability to antagonize players until they react then eject them with impunity? Should Winters be disciplined and should that discipline be worse because Bradley's ACL was torn in the melee that followed?

The Yankees are my favorite team, and I like Alex Rodriguez. I believe they will be horrible if they don't re-sign him in the off-season. Yes Abreu, Posada, Cano, and Matsui are bouncing back, but still. Who thinks this too?

If the Sox and Yankees tie for the division in the AL East and both teams have secured playoff spots. My understanding is that there is no playoff game to determine the divisional champion. Am I correct? How is it decided who won the division?
