I know baseball fans hate hypothetical questions, most responses end up ‘that won’t happen, so I don’t have to answer hypothetically’, but…

If George Steinbrenner felt that Derek Jeter really wanted to retire a Yankee, and told him that he would offer him a $3 million dollar a year for his remaining years, how many people actually believe that Jeter actually loves the Yankees that much to sign that contract.

I.e., Does Jeter play for the Yankees because he ‘loves being a Yankee’ or does it have to do with the $21 million they pay him every year.

And in advance, you can get as abusive or obnoxious as you want, I don't care.

Fair is fair right? Lets put an asterick on Mcguire's 62n'd homerun baseball too. Oh i forgot. It's a doublestandard when it comes to Mcguire . It's ok to bash Bonds b/c that's the in thing to do but god forbid if Mcgire or Ankiel is accused of anything. After all they are innocent till proven guilty while it's a different set of rules for Bonds. He's guilty till proven innocent. The obvious doublestandard is such a joke.

See the link. Branded with an asterisk? Why would they do that? Why not just give the ball with nothing on it? What does the asterisk symbolize?

Mark Ecko, who Bonds called "an idiot", purchased it on an on on-line auction for $752,467. He set up a web site asking the public what they wanted him to do with it. The public ended up voting to have it shipped to the Hall of Fame with an asterisk stamped on it. What do you think of that ???

....And that it is more important to every other sport. Could this statement be more backwards? Baseball is the only professional sport that offers different dimensions of playing ground. I mean, I would think Pesky Poll would be a bitc# for an opposing team. The fans in that section are practically sitting on the field. It's probably the easiest place in all of baseball to rob a home run if you're the home team and the hardest in the game if your the away team. Think about every other park in baseball and all the little quirks that make it different. Would you agree that homefield advantage matters the most to baseball than all other sports......and that Michael Kay is an idiot?

I say with my heart on my sleeve...that it will be either CC Sabathia or Grady Sizemore...that's assuming we can erase six decades of frustration at the mistake on the lake.
