I will do you even better than that. Other than Mark McRoids first year you can basically ignore, erase, and destroy any and all home run balls hit after that.
I'm so sick and tired of "WHITE" America making bs and lame azz excuses for the biggest cheater ever. Yeah, that's right! Biggest cheater ever, Mark McRoids.
At least Bonds had the "BALLS" to admit he used unlike McRoids.

Squirrel, if you want to buy the 62nd home run ball and then do an internet vote on it, I will click to asterisk it or send it into space, which ever you want.
However, even the essence at the debate is different. McGwire's admission (during the season as well) was that he was using Andro, which I had heard is not steroids and wasn't illegal in US Law nor on Baseball's ban list.
Bonds' crime was using steroids without a prescription and he didn't mention anything about using that.
So,
Steroids - Bonds yes, McGwire unknown
Substance acknowledged. Bonds - only to grand jury, McGwire - publically
Prescription needed. Bonds - yes, McGwire no
US law Broken. Bonds - yes, McGwire No
And, let's not forget the only kick at the can McGwire has had at the HOF, he didn't get the necessary votes. This issue won't keep Bonds out of the HOF.
To me, if I had a vote, I would look at it like this, does the benefit of the illegal substance make such a difference that it turned a non-HOFer into a seemingly HOFer. For McGwire, the answer is yes, for Bonds it's no (IMHO).
So, with that in mind, Bonds is not getting a raw deal, he is getting exactly what he deserves.
Oh and under no circumstances does Pete Rose belong in the HOF as gambling affects the whole team he was managing where steroids affects the health of the player using it.

This is a pretty loaded question.
For the ball, the asterisk for Bonds' is going on because the man who owned it decided to do that with it. I believe that McGwire still has 62 either that or Cooperstown has it already, so marking the ball is a moot point.
As for innocent until proven guilty, while his testimony in front of congress was completley damning, to the best of my knowledge there has been no proof or admission from McGwire.
With Ankiel, he admitted using HGH, but while receiving it from a shady pharmacy "supposedly" had a prescription for it. This must be taken with a grain of salt though, because you can get scripts in a lot of different ways. (Also note how quickly his feel good story this season disappeared after the report came out)
Now to Bonds. One must keep in mind that he has been surly and aloof to the media for his whole career, and if you dont think that plays a part in this whole thing, just ask Eddie Murray, who is still waiting to get into the hall of fame. The biggest thing with Bonds is the Grand Jury Testimony from the BALCO trial. Yes, it was supposed to remain sealed, but it was leaked, and in that testimony Bonds admitted using the Cream and the Clear.
So while it all falls under the same umbrella they are three completely different scenarios. Most important to remember in all of this is that this is all a public opinion matter, as all three of these people used these substances while they were not banned by the game of baseball. Fine line, maybe, but thats the way it works.
You are correct, I did mean Rice, thank you for the correction.

Well, seeing as the McGuire 62nd Home Run Ball is privately owned and NOT in the Hall of Fame it would serve no purpose to brand it with an asterisk. Who would see it?
The Bonds ball will be in the Hall of Fame for my children's children's grandchildren to see and they need to know that a big question mark hung over this record and all players in this era. Branding the most infamous baseball that was hit for the most famous record in professional sports is a great way of reminding everyone who is a fan of baseball 100+ years from now that Bonds, McGuire, Sosa, Clemens, Palmeiro, Gibbons, Ankiel, Bradly, and countless others from this era of baseball were, in all likely hood, cheaters using performance enhancing drugs.

Go spend a million dollars to buy the McGuire ball, put it up on a website with the options and we will vote, until then give it a rest and as for a double standard...did anyone notice MM did NOT get into the Hall this past year?

Yes . . . McGuire should be banished as well. Barry is deservedly under more scrutiny because he broke a record that was the holy grail in baseball. The fact that he's a complete prima donna, a prick, and a cancer in the club house doesn't help his case.

What double standard? McGwire has been bashed every bit as much as Bonds. He was lucky enough to retire before the steroid era came to a real head so he was not the focus anyomore like Barry. Did you happened to see the Hall of Fame voting when he became eligible? Quit your crying for Barry, he cheated, now he has to deal with the consequences.

I agree 100%, let's asterisk Sammy as well. Corked bat and all.
To Bob T....Sammy has not always been a large muscular guy. FYI when he played for the White Sox he sure wasn't.
He was just a jewelry wearing young player that was not a very good outfielder.

At least people manage to spell Bonds' name correctly more than half the time.
McGwire (see? DOUBLE yoo; not a single yoo) should be a tenth so fortunate.

McGwire was always a large muscular guy
Same with Sosa too
the thing is
Bond's entire body shape/type changed!
and very quickly
look at pictures of him from the 80's and 90's and compare that to pictures from after 2000
