He's a great hitter that will be in the middle of a lineup in KC that could be really dangerous next year with him, Gordon, Gload, Smith and Teahan. Gordon finally learned how to hit MLB pitching in the last 2 months and that will really help protect Butler next season. I think Butler has a great shot at winning a batting title sometime in the next 5 years. Hopefully he can work on his defense so KC can play him in the field and get a solid veteran bat to fill in the DH hole. If he can learn to play 1st, there may even be room to hold onto Sweeney (he can still hit the cover off the ball) next year for that DH spot.

Great Offensive Player. Awful Defensive Player. Look For Butler To Be A Full Time Designated Hitter.

He's going to tear it up next year.

*He's not going to be a full time DH - He was a 3B his first full season of minor league ball. He has played some 1B this year, and he's done okay, but, the Royals are sending him to winter ball to work on his defense at 1B. >Look for part time DH, part time 1B.
