Define it anyway you want, I am just trying to have a little fun here. It is all opinion, so forget all the technicalities!

Whats the definition of a traitor anyways?

Here is something to think about...

Let's say you make 5 bucks a hour at McDonalds and you work with some pretty annoying and depressing coworkers. Then Burger King says we would like to pay you 8 bucks an hour and everyone is fun and you will advance your career by taking the job. Is this being a traitor to take the Burger King job?

The real honest answer to your question is no one. Because if you had the opportunity to play for more money and a team that can possibly win a championship team, you would all do it too. That's just the truth.

If there is someone willing to pay you the money for a better opportunity then it would be stupid on your part to turn it down because of others. You shouldn't let people manipulate you by calling you a traitor. People are going to switch teams. If you are loyal to the player you will stay a fan. The player shouldn't have to worry about being loyal to one particular home. He will gain new fans if he is a good player and a good person. This explains why Yankee fans love guys like A-rod, Damon, and Clemens. Of course you have to earn it, but thats all part of it.

Clemens was not wanted by Dan Duquette's Red Sox and signed a free agent contract with Toronto and then Toronto traded him to the Yankees after winning 2 Cy. How is that being a traitor to the Red Sox?

Well I wouldn't say Frank Thomas was a 'traitor' to the A's, he was a career ChiSox player before some sort of breakdown occurred between Thomas and the ownership. So maybe coming to the A's was a traitor move as well...?

Also Ken Griffey Jr. leaving Seattle for Cincy as a free agent.
Also Alex Rodriguez leaving Seattle for Texas as a free agent.

Although they did win 116 the year after they both left....hm.

Alex Rodriguez.
Miguel Tejada
Jason Giambi, lost his hair and personality when he became a Yankee. Same as Johnny Damon really.
You should also include Randy Johnson. It was freaking weird seeing him as a NY Yankee.

And Griffey was actually traded because he wanted to be closer to his family, and took less money to do so. He was no traitor.

What about Pedro leaving Boston for the Mets...I know it is not the Yankees but it is still New York. Big traitor move...when J D Drew was 1st overall pick by the Phillies and told them he wouldn't play for them only to be drafted the next year by the Cardinals (who called him up for the sereis against the Phillies)

When I was young, 3B/1B Pete Rose going from Cincinnati to Philly was devastating to a young Reds fan. I even remember writing the word "TRAITOR" on a Kellogg's baseball card with a black marker! Although I probably didn't spell it correctly...

Bobby Bonilla can play 3B... left Pirates for Mets and signed the first 7-million dollar a year contract in history! All of this silliness is his fault!

Fritz Peterson and Suzanne Kekich for Mike Kekich and Marylin Peterson.

Or maybe that's the "all- Trader" team.
