Wow, another shocking silly season announcement was recently posted on jayski. Here's the article.
Reiser moving up to be Roush Fenway GM:
One of the longest tenured crew chief-driver relationships in Nextel Cup will end after Sunday's finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that Robbie Reiser, who has been #17-Matt Kenseth's crew chief since they entered NASCAR's premier series in 2000 and long before that in the Busch Series, will become the general manager at Roush Fenway Racing. He will replace Max Jones, who will move into the GM role at Robert Yates Racing [will just be Yates Racing in 2008]. RYR and Roush recently formed an alliance that basically will allow them to work as a seven-car operation without violating NASCAR's four-car cap. Reiser will follow in the footsteps of his father, who was the general manager of Roush"s Busch Series and Truck Series teams.

I love their statement about Boras. Anyone else see who is the problem here?

"We will negotiate as long as Boras is not in the room."

Finally, someone stands up to Boras, albeit the Yankees.

Hopefully every team takes this stance.

I'm plan on buying a Prolight 4, and was wondering if there was that much of a difference between the regular and the women's. If so, the women's sizes are 20 x 66 and 20 x 72. I'm 5' 10. I'm new to backpacking and I didn't know if there was something special to getting the right size. Obviously I was thinking of getting the bigger size, but I wanted to make sure those extra few inches were neccessary, as the larger size costs about $15 more. Thank you and any help will be appriciated.

Not the worst fans. Not the biggest fairweather or bandwagon fans. Not the rudest fans. Just the most irritating, arrogant, pompous, smug fans. The ones who act like their team is just way to good for you to ever even remotely doubt or question them, whether they are any good or not.

I am going to have to go with, first and foremost, the obvious choice of Dallas fans. I don't even think I need to list all of the reasons why.

Second I'm going to go, surprisingly, with Seattle fans. I don't have much exposure to Seahawks fans, but the ones I HAVE dealt with REALLY have an incredibly snooty attitude...as if they had already won 10 Super Bowls or something. It's one thing if Dallas, Pittsburgh, NE, etc. fans say things like "How many Super Bowls have YOU won?" (It's obnoxious but they DO have a point & at least and I can be objective enough to acknowledge that.) But a SEAHAWKS fan trying to bust on you for never having won a Super Bowl???? Ummmm.....ok?

Managers Of The Year

AL
Wedge (CLE) 116 points (named on all 28 ballots)
Scioscia (LAA) 62
Torre (NYY) 61
Francona (BOS) 13

NL
Melvin (ARZ) 119 points
Manuel (PHIL) 76
Hurdle (COL) 58
Piniella (CHC) 25
Black (SD) 4
Acta (WASH) 4
Yost (MIL) 2

Torre was named on 25 ballots, Scioscia on 24, which is interesting.

Only postseason team managers got votes in the AL, but I don't really have a quibble with that. There were a handful of strong teams and a lot of weak or average ones. The NL was much more equitable, though that doesn't mean those teams were great, because they were not. Gotta think the Mets' collapse is why Randolph didn't get ANY votes.

Among the four AL managers, only Francona did not get a first place vote.

Tomorrow, Peavy gets the NL CYA, officially.

Gray Sheffield did just fine dealing w/ the Yankees on his own. A 10 year $275 Million would be fair to A-Rod and the Yanks. I say it gets done within the month. Although Sheffield did take some time working on his.

Reminds me of being stuck in Las Vegas one night. The plane I was on was struck by lightning leaving Tampa. So, I guess it took them 2,000 miles to figure it was not safe to fly. Brilliant.

Any-who, after being asked one of the toughest goalie questions yesterday, I have made it a 10 minutes mission to come up with the toughest goalie question ever. So, here it is:

I am looking to have a fantasy football league with 20 teams. To not completely dilute the talent pool, I would want two separate divisions of 10 that could run like their own league. Each division would play out the year only playing with in their division and at the end of the year the winner of each division would play in a fantasy football super bowl. Is their a league that could separate two divisions like this in order to pick the same player twice? The only reason is to be able to have 20 teams on the same message board, but not completely weaken the talent pool.
Thanks
