Gray Sheffield did just fine dealing w/ the Yankees on his own. A 10 year $275 Million would be fair to A-Rod and the Yanks. I say it gets done within the month. Although Sheffield did take some time working on his.

Sounds like A-Rod has learned that teams such as Boston, LA ... who could afford him do not want to pay more than he would have made staying with his Yankee contract. That 27.5 m/yr figure sounds about right and by excluding Boras the Yanks save face resuming negotiations with him.

I dont see that happening. NY hasnt made any real attempts yet to make themselves a better team in 2008. They are only retaining some key players.

I dont think ARod will quickly forget the way he was treated or how quickly his name was dragged through the mud after he opted out. Now, 3 weeks later, I'm hard pressed to find ANYTHING bad about ARod since the rumors popped up. The critics may have spoken too soon, thinking that the door was closed.

All of these ARod rumors are just that...rumors. There wont be any serious negotiations until after the New Year.

He would need to fire Scott Boras and that is never, ever going to happen. It is only a possibility if it gets into mid-February and there are zero offers on the table, which isn't going to be the case. It can be argued that Boras is as powerful an influence on the game as any one individual and A-Rod will not walk away from him.

According to MLB.com the Yankees will not negotiate any terms with Scott Boras....So if A-Rod wants to remain a Yankee he will need to become his own agent.....Its going to be interesting...I hope that the Yankees don't sign A-ROD!!!
