After a loss, they were stuck in St. Louis.

Reminds me of being stuck in Las Vegas one night. The plane I was on was struck by lightning leaving Tampa. So, I guess it took them 2,000 miles to figure it was not safe to fly. Brilliant.

Any-who, after being asked one of the toughest goalie questions yesterday, I have made it a 10 minutes mission to come up with the toughest goalie question ever. So, here it is:

What NHL goalies have had more shutouts than wins in one season?

I guess I need to investigate Cyrenaica's question.
Man, I already had a hint and everything. My hint was: They are all most likely dead by now.

1927-28 Joseph Ironstone, Toronto Maple Leafs, 1 shutout, 0 wins
1928-29 Joseph Miller, Pittsburgh Pirates, 11 shutouts, 9 wins
1928-29 James Walsh, New York Americans/Montreal Maroons, 4 shutouts, 3 wins
1930-31 Benjamin Grant, Toronto Maple Leafs, 2 shutouts, 1 win

Joseph Ironstone retired with more shutouts than wins as he never did win a game at the NHL level

Yea. Just the way the Wings luck is going right now.

As to your question, is that possible? I can't see how. Unless you get a shutout for being pulled in the middle/end of the game because of injury and you didn't allow a goal. Which I'm pretty sure that doesn't qualify as a shutout. So, hows that possible? It's gonna start bugging me real bad too.

LOL

That pilot must be very embarrassed.

But imagine what would have happened if the plane had been going along the ground a bit faster when the wheels got stuck.

i doubt any. it would have to be a goalie who played in only a few games. now, with the shootout, you can get a shutout and a loss, but before, they would have needed a few 0-0 ties, and i doubt many (if any) goalies had multiple 0-0 ties without wins in a season

LMAO - I guess it's been that long that we forget the game had ties at one time. A 0 - 0 tie is not a win.

I wonder how many tow truck drivers hung up on them?
"Hi, dis Dominic Hasek, got jet stuck in mud, you come get me, ya"
I don't suppose tuck drivers get a lot of calls for pulling out jets.

No answer for the real question, sorry. Got me laughing too hard to look it up.

Just a comment - I detest the Red Wings but St. Louis is a very nice city.

It all happened because they forgot(or left) Dom at the terminal, and as they were taking off he ran infront of the jet to make them stop...Well naturaly the pilots tried to stop and swerve away from a frightened Dom, but they were too slow...luckily the jet went right between his 5 hole, and no harm done! (except that Dom made it back on the jet)
