God made the stars & how come stars begin to show up right after their creation at the fourth day............The star light should've taken billions of years to reach the earth considering their distance from Earth. I've come with some theories of my own....:

1. Light at the beginning had greater speed more than 300m/sec.

2. God made the stars & Universe before day 4 but made them appear on fourth day.

3. One solar day equals to 1 million or 1 billion years for God.

my youth pastor was fired from being a youth pastor for NO reason
and i know that for a fact that theres was no reason for fireing her
but anyway i want to know that if LOTS of people complian and then the person of the church asked her to come back and be a youth pastor do you think she would?
my mom thinks she wouldn't because of not trusting the church anymore what do YOU think

I had a rather scary experience last night. I was half asleep, when I heard my husband mumbling something. I didn't think this was odd because he talks in his sleep sometimes. Then I smelled a hot, sulfurus rock stench. My husband said he saw a ominous red/grey cloud over my dressing table. I went to sit up, and I put my hand down on my hair, jerking myself back into a prone position. When I finally sat up, he said it was gone. I got up and got some inscence, lit it and prayed to the Goddess and God for protection. I am really freaked out. I want to sleep in peace tonight. What can I do?

Do we sometimes get lost in the metaphysics end of the path? Do we tend to let our intellect complicate something that is basically simple & beautiful? Is there a point where the intellect & always trying to figure it all out becomes a block? If so, what are the signs & symptoms this is happening? Is this more of a problem for those that forge their own path verses those in a traditional religion?

my friend from india was was giving away candy and sweets he was so happy about his first born son i worked with him for almost 2 years , so i asked him when was the last time u visited india he answered 3 years , and so i asked how could u have a son then , he said o well my brother pleasing her till i come back .

at this time of ages do you think GOD would send a
1.christ that just came from the sky all good and mighty like he's **** don't stink thinking he's all that to good to be true .....wow I'm a little over welmed with all your goodness how can I just say please forgive me and turn the other cheak

I've heard a lot of atheists say "the Bible is plagued with contradictions!". I'm kinda curious... What and where are the contradictions? Dont' get me wrong; I'm not trying to be a troll, I'm just curious; maybe I can explain some of them. Now also, I don't want insults or trash answers; I want you to point out some contradictions you've seen. If you're not going to give me any answers and just say "Oh, Please! We all know the whole thing is a fairy tale! I don't even need to point any contradictions out... it's obvious!", then please don't answer :) All that shows is you can't point out anything... One more important thing; include references to the verses you quote. I don't want you making up things and saying "Well, it says in the Bible that...." and not give any reference. Even if you're pretty darn sure that the verse exists, I still need a reference. I see people making up verses very frequently on Y!A; it's quite obnoxious. Thanks!

I am putting this in the religion section since religions teach that women have specific roles in society and in relationships.

To me, a relationship is a partnership - that means each helps with everything (when possible, of course). And I do not think there should be any jobs that are specific to men or women, even combat roles in the military (Celtic women fought in battle, so did Russian women). What do you think?

A) Deceased people who died and went into the light and are in Heaven and can't do everything they could do here and are forced an existance of nothing but peacefulness, grass, flowers and nothing else and they worship and serve God nonstop forever and ever whether they like it or not and have less freedom than what they had here because they have God "breathing down their necks" every second.


OR


B) Deceased people who died and refused to go into the light and are here on Earth haunting cemetaries, houses, building, and sometimes forests. They have ALL THE FREEDOM they could ever want. They can do whatever they want, experience whatever pleasures they want and don't have to worry about getting in trouble because they don't have
God "breathing down their necks" every second.



If both scenerios were to hold 100% true, then I'm happy for those "ghosts" and pity the ones in heaven.
I'd choose B) because unlike you, I value FREEDOM.

What happened in your life?

Why or Why not?

Me, I don't believe in the same thing as my parents. Over the last years I've kind of gone on a roller coaster of religious beliefs. I was a Christian, an Atheist, I believed in Islam for awhile, Buddhism, ect. Just trying to find out what seemed right. Now I believe in a mix of Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam mixed in with some teaching of Buddhism and bits of Pagan & Wiccan beliefs (mostly nature stuff for those).

If the human cell is intelligently designed, then the common cold virus HAS to be intelligently designed...Since it invades the healthy cell, and swaps it's dna code so the cell starts churning out fresh virii...how did it "know" how to to that?
