"I don't believe in evolution".
"I don't believe in global warming".

I find more and more people treating evolution and global warming like a religion.

Lets just say that they never ate the fruit from the forbidden tree(which shouldnt have been there in the first place, but whatever). How were they supposed to be sin free?

I mean what if they lied or did something else that's considered a sin? How were they supposed to know if they didnt know the difference between right and wrong?

Cause then he'd be mad at them for something else when they would have had no way of knowing since they were oblivious to the difference between what is right and wrong, or good and bad.

That he didn't equip them to follow. He gives humanity instincts, the capacity for love (and hate), for kindness (and violence), for sexual desire, but not the trait of perfection. But yet he punishes humanity for not being perfect.

Isn't this similar to being a bad parent, but punishing your kids for mistakes they make because you didn't teach them about a certain issue?

Christianity paints a sour picture of woman as a weaker sex. Men are the heads of the household, while women are viewed as emotional and fragile creatures. Women are meant to submit.....why is this?

Without citing the bible, what in your opinion makes women the weaker sex??? How does a phallus and testicles make a man better than a woman?

Surely you would all agree that only Jewish Law gets to define Jewish identity?

I mentioned politely that many core Christian beliefs are HERESY in Judaism, yet STILL I'm being told by Christians that I as a Jew am wrong and that they know more than G-d and Torah as to who and what is Jewish!!!

Do you not agree this is absurd and arrogant?

If you and your spouse were having problems and they decide to move out for however long they feel like it until they get themselves "together". Meaning that they are very depressed, and want to regroup and work on themselves - like personality problems.

Do you think it's acceptable to leave their spouse like this and not give them an answer of when they'll be back, move in with a friend and only talk to them maybe once a day - if that?

And his dad replies, "5 Dollars?!... What do you need 3 dollars for?!"

I was told that the leader reads a paragraph or two from one of its publications and asks questions on what has been read. Then the students are to answer by repeating a portion of the previous paragraph. Your own interpretation is not accepted. Is that even true?

I was told they force people to give the answer they desire, in their propagandizing process. This gets a person into the habit of repeating only what was written and no longer thinking for himself, leaving the publications to do the thinking for him.

Is it that important to get their members to the place where they cannot think for themselves??

I am a Protestant. I have in recent years begun to see some "problems" with our theology that Catholicism seems to answer and would like some more info on it. I guess my biggest issues are with, Papal infallibility, Apostolic succession, and the idea that the Bible is not sufficient for salvation. Any real helps with this will be appreciated, pontification and conjecture are not.

Yes, I have tried to talk to a priest, so far they have all been too busy.

Please tell me, what do you make of these statments that I read today on this site? They were all written by Christians, but I'm hoping they do not represent what all Christians feel:

a) 'Judaism finished when Christ died'

b) Christianity completes Judaism

c) You can be a Christian Jew

******** Before you answer please consider:
Can one be a Muslim Christian?
Does Islam complete Christianity?

Do SOME of you understand what I'm getting at? I really hope so... :)

Personally, I'd be a little amused if that happened. No warrant to hurt anyone.

Why would a kind, loving God cast good people down to hell for not believing he's there? Is his ego really that huge? Besides, after death (if this God character exists), they'd be proven wrong and would most likely be repentant, after all.

And for those who say that it's not God's doing, it's Satan's...well, why would a kind, loving and ALL-POWERFUL God allow his "children" to slip from his grasp?

If someone claimed to disbelieve in my existence, I wouldn't hesitate to save them from a on-coming car.

Please be polite.

There are many animals that defy macro-evolution (whales, woodpeckers, beetles, most birds, giraffes, etc), so why would so many hold on to a theory that has very little historical evidence.
The Hebrew Scriptures at least has some historical evidence that's been proven. Why the denial? Just be honest.

I'm not a Mormon, and want to start this off by saying I don't care or want to know what they believe. I do know a few Mormons though, so I did a little search on Yahoo Answers of "Mormon" to find out a little more. I was surprised because everyone on here made them sound so weird, and the people I know all seem pretty normal.

So, I'm wondering if people who made them sound like crazy cult people actually know anyone, or that's just what they've heard about the religion, or perhaps the people I know are just hiding the craziness/weirdness? I don't want any Mormons to answer this, or people who don't PERSONALLY know any Mormons:

What's your take/impression of actual Mormon people? Does it match what you hear about the religion from people who aren't Mormon?

Again, I don't care what they believe, I've just been observing, reading, and am curious.

I plan to vote for a candidate that has the best possibility of not bringing his or her religion into the White House. Obviously, no candidate can be without religion and have a chance of winning the election -

But who do you think will be the least religious candidates ?

I like the teachings of Jesus, but the stories of the dead being raised, walking on water, feeding thousands with a handful of food, water turning into wine and all that....

I mean there's no extraBiblical record of any miracles - anywhere!

And if those miracles actually, really happened, one would surely think that at least ONE of the forty or so historians in Palestine during the time of Christ, who recorded mundane things as well, would have mentioned one of them.

And of course, no one has ever seen miracles like these in today's real world, even though Jesus said that believers would do even greater things than He did. I mean, there's claims of "invisible" miracles (healings, etc) but nothing Biblical or that cannot be explained by scientific means.

So would God understand why Christians would see the miracles of the Bible as metaphor only?

To include the virgin birth also.
