There are many animals that defy macro-evolution (whales, woodpeckers, beetles, most birds, giraffes, etc), so why would so many hold on to a theory that has very little historical evidence.
The Hebrew Scriptures at least has some historical evidence that's been proven. Why the denial? Just be honest.

Rachel, bird feathers could not have evolved from scales.
Whales have a different breathing system than land mammals. If not, they would drowned or starve to death.

Eleventry: The Scriptures speak of a Hebrew nation settling in Israel, had a King by the name of David. Were taken into captivity into Babylon, etc, etc. Like I said at least history.

006: You zealot.

Togehter: Do your research concerning the breathing systems of whales and cows. You claim whales came from cows. lol

Rachel: Last I looked a feather is a highly complex system. A scale is a type of skin.
Just admit some animals defy evolution. I'm not saying throw everything out, I'm saying stop being a zealot and look at what really has and has not been proven.

006: Do the research.

Mato: You people really are zealots. Transitional fossils? You got to be kidding me. You really do believe they exist. Amazing.

The details of whale evolution are still being worked out, but the basic picture (that they evolved from land mammals) is well documented.

The evolution of the woodpecker has also been well documented.

Bombardier beetles too (if that's what you mean)

There's no difference between micro-evolution and macro evolution. If you see small changes over a relatively short time, obviously they will add up to larger changes over a longer period of time.

No animal defies evolution. If there was one, the entire theory would be tossed out in favor of the next one which fits the facts and can be verified (read: not creationism).

Edit: Why could feathers not have evolved? Whales do not have a different breathing system than land mammals. They both breathe oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. What's this difference you're talking about?

It doesn't really. What it defies is a completely literal interpretation of Genesis. Some (not all) Christians insist that every word of the Bible must be interpreted literally. They believe God actually created all the animals in a single day, and that it was impossible for new species to come along afterwards, because then God's creation would not have been complete in six days. 100 years ago, creationists also believed that it was impossible for species go to extinct. But extinction has been proven to the point where this belief has become untenable.

For all those creatures listed the evolutionary path is quite well known.

Feathers have evolved just like everything else.

So, you think micro evolution is O.K. but macro is out. Right?

Answer me this: What is the biological process that limits micro evolution?

What you are effectively saying is that it is fine to say that someone can walk 10 miles in a day, but it is totally impossible for someone to walk 1000 miles in 10 years.

If there is no process to stop evolution from going too far from the original 'design' then after enough time you will end up with a totally different species from what you started with. It is inevitable.

Your lack of knowledge concerning the evolution of these species is not indicative of a gap in scientific knowledge.

And the Hebrew Scriptures are evidence of what exactly?

[edit] The Illiad speaks of many things for which there is little or contradictory evidence for also.

Whales breath air using lungs the same as land mammals. Feathers are simply very specialized scales.

Please explain how the species you mentioned defy evolution?....the birds especially.

EDIT: How do you know that??? Ancient bird-like creatures have been found having both scales and feathers....look at a bird's feet. Is that not a form of scaling? Where are you getting your information from???Or are you just pulling it out of you a**??? If you want to make a point, fine, but have evidence to back it up

Un-believable how wrong you really are, there are many many transitional fossils for all the species mentioned.......

Oh wait.....

I get it.....

You're just being sarcastic and you already know that the fossil record for the evolution of whales is very well documented. You're just baiting those creationists by playing troll.

Hebrew scripture has a lot of flaws too. So do these "creations". If your god was so perfect it would have done a better job.

Actually, the evolutionary pathway of each species you mentioned is well known and well documented.

Do your research.
