While I agree with you on evolution, global warming is being treated like a religion by everybody. While there is ample evidence that the temperature of the globe has increased over the last century, we're talking less than two degrees Celsius. There is abundant evidence that human activity is at best a minor part of the cause, but no one is allowed to point that out. Everyone is expected to toe the "humans are destroying the planet!" line, and any contrary evidence even from respected scientists is completely ignored or shouted down. At a recent meeting of climatologists, only 8% of them said that human activity was a major contributor to global warming - how much news time was that given? Have you even been made aware that 2007 was the COLDEST year so far this century?
Sorry, luv - global warming is a new religion, but not in the way I think you meant it.

A religion, a scientific theory, or any explanation of why something happens is a belief.
For instance, while I believe in microevolution (variation within a species), I do not believe in macroevolution (variations between species) because of the lack of concrete evidence and gaps in logic in the macroevolutionist argument. I'm not treating macroevolution as a religion, I just say I don't believe in it because there is not enough scientific evidence to justify it.
I have to admit I don't know much about global warming, but again, whether one believes in it or not depends on that person's interpretation of the evidence to support it, as is religion. Religion is believed or not believed because some see it as a more feasible explanation for a certain phenomenon than a scientific explanation.
On that note, religion and science are not in conflict with each other, but both constantly adapt as new evidence is introduced. For example, I do not subscribe to the literal 7-day creation because of the scientific evidence to disprove it. At the same time, science is constantly changing: just look at all the fuss going on about diet products and what is right for one's body.

I believe in evolution. But it has nothing to do with religion. Science merely presents facts based on today's knowledge.
I am not to sure about global warming especially since Gore is the developer of this idea. And, I have also read that 19,000 scientists have signed a petition stating that it is untrue.
Anyone who thinks either of the notions are a religion are ignorant.

Most people will agree that Global Warming is real.
It's just weather it's Man-caused that remains in question.
Theres not as much proof as you'd like to believe there is that it's all OUR fault.
Studies suggest that our planet has always had these kinds of climate changes, we just might be speeding that process along :S
It's kinda like if someone sees they are going bald and just decides to shave their head & be done with it.
But then again it may be Waaay more complicated than that.
I mean we have no other planet to look at in comparison.
New Discoveries are being made left & right and all we really have to go on are some basic facts..
Facts that lead to a difference in opinion.
Facts that lead to different theories as to how such things have come about...etc.
Anyway. My answer is Yes to Evolution.
No to Global warming.
It's more understandable to me if people don't believe in "Global Warming"....Whatever that may mean to them..

"Man Made Global Warming" is more or less a religion, there's just as much evidence debunking it as supporting it. Yet like Christians Global Warmingists ignore all that doesn't fall in line with their view.
All hail the Goracle!!

Anyone with half a brain would know that nature has patterns that happen throughout the millions of years. Gore is tooting his own horn, he couldn't get elected to the oval office, so he is desperate to get attention, so he gets people up in arms over non fact based garbage over global warming. The man is dillusional. If this world is warming, it is a process our environment goes through periodically. Don't think for a minute that God isn't in control.

I do.
They should be corrected to the following:
"I am completely clueless when it comes to understanding evolution and what the word 'theory' means in science."
"I prefer to be willfully ignorant when it comes to global warming; the less personal responsibility the better."

Again, religious people feel that 1) If they ignore the problem long enough, it will go away and 2) Christians feel that the Earth was given to them to do with as they see fit, so even if they DID believe it, they would not care. Religion is a true sickness of the mind.

global warming I am suspicious off - not because I do not believe the world is getting warmer, but for two reasons
1. the warming and cooling is a natural process (we most likely are speeding it up)
2. the politicians love to focus on what might kill people in the future, but refuse to focus on what is killing people right now - like toxic waste being dumped everywhere
