The Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust... am I the only one convinced that we have enough reason to drop the arrogance and just accept each other and celebrate our differences?

My wife and I are both Christians. We have read the bible and have had numerous bible studies held at our home. Yesterday she posed a theory to me that I wanted to share. Sorry if this has been posted before. The bible says that god created the great flood to cleanse the Earth and start over. She came up with a theory that Satan could have caused the great flood to collect the souls of all the evil non believers. What are your thoughts on this theory? I know that we are supposed to interpret the Bible in our own way but considering this is quite a change I just wanted to know your thoughts.

I just read this random paragraph:

"Following Mother Teresa's death in 1997, the Holy See began the process of beatification, the second step towards possible canonization. This process requires the documentation of a miracle performed from the intercession of Mother Teresa. In 2002, the Vatican recognized as a miracle the healing of a tumor in the abdomen of an Indian woman, Monica Besra, following the application of a locket containing Mother Teresa's picture. Monica Besra said that a beam of light emanated from the picture, curing the cancerous tumor in the shape of George W. Bush. Some of Besra's medical staff and, initially, Besra's husband insist that conventional medical treatment eradicated the tumor. The beatification of Mother Teresa took place on October 19, 1962, thereby bestowing on her the title "Blessed." Unless dispensed by the Pope, a second miracle is required for her to proceed to canonization."

To become a saint you have to perform two miracles?

In Revelation the bible tells us of the Beast, the Anti Christ and Satan. They would seem to be 3 different evils. Rev 10; And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Can anyone help shed some light, and identify them, or give me the specific role of each?

I hear two explanations, one is that humans and dinoasurs existed at the same time... The other is that dinosaur bones were planted in the Earth by the Devil. Which is true... according to Christians of course...

I have studied some of the major religions. I have had different people say, "Don't talk to them. They believe..." I have come to find out that you have to listen to someone who is actively involved or a minister from that faith to find what they actually believe.
With Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith in the spotlight right now, I am hearing people call Mormons non-christians. This is contrary to what I have studied. Apparently my definition of a Christian is different than others.
I don't mean to single out Mormonism, but it is the hot topic right now.
So my question is "WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?" What defines a Christian?

from stolen information of Nikoli Tesla. They used supposed occultic practices to gain other pertinent information about their construction it is claimed by some. After WW2 Admiral Bird lead an invasion fleet on Antartica where supposedly an underground base was located but was soundly turned back. IF this was true, and this was the actual source of supposed UFO sightings and abductions, would this have any effect on your understanding of scripture? Or is it still just spiritual wickedness in high place? Demons? Nephilim?

for ATHEISTS & AGNOSTICS ONLY, please.

Had you not embraced Atheism / Agnosticism, why would your religion have been by virtue of birth? (What was your family's or their family's religion)

I have asked some queries about Atheism - and have received a large number of responses. Most of the responses were logical and helped me understand what the western concept of Atheism is about.

I hold that it is rare to find a Buddhist-Atheist and almost imporssible to find a Hindu-Atheist. I would surmise that >80% atheists are bred out of Christianity - but this is only a guess. I seek to learn more. So please respond - and if you know other Atheists / Agnostics, please also ask them to respond.

I will keep these question open for 72 hours and then try to add up the numbers and see where we arrive at. I expect a good participation from you because I find Atheists have no hang-ups and less fear of speaking out their minds.

Thanks in advance !!

We seem to love to buy as much stuff as possible these days, imposing ourselves apon one another.

The rise to power of men who rule only for more money and domination, rather than for the good of mankind.

Are we realy happy with all this stuff? will we continue to keep buying more and more stuff? or do you think some day we will value wisdom and spiritual enlightenment over a bigger TV or faster computer?

I moved almost a year ago and things have not panned out like I thought they would. I have had to start all over again and I did not expect these trials to happen my questions are How can I have a godly attitude about the trials I am going through?
How can I learn to instill the principle in my life that God does not owe me anything just because I serve Him and do my best to do His will? I had gotten some work oriented teadhing and legalistic and prosperity teachings that were wrong doctrine.
How can I keep the faith when I feel like giving up? Thank you for your answers and God bless you.

I have posted the subject of confession of sins to a priest in the past, and every time there are two overwhelming responses:
1) Its not scriptual
2) Only Catholics do that

Well, regarding #1: I always post a link with ALL the scripture references, but nobody bothers to read it.
MY QUESTION: Will you read this link and constructively comment on it?
http://www.catholic.com/library/Forgiveness_of_Sins.asp

Regarding #2: In fact, over 80% of Christians DO confess their sins to a priest.
MY QUESTION: Are you aware that Eastern Orthodox Christians, Traditional Anglican Christians, Coptic Christians, ALONG with Catholic Christians all practice this Sacrament of Confession, and, combined, this represents over 80% of ALL Christians?

Ok, so my cousin and I played the Ouija board two years ago and since we have had a lot of paranormal experiences. The guy that we talked to was named Walter and he got very upset with us because we asked him some very personal questions. Afterwards, a lot of writings started to appear on the walls threatening us and the word "Die" appeared on her hamster. It got really scary so we burned the Ouija board and got a lot of Holy water and sprinkled it all over the house. We have seen A LOT of spirits since then, but this morning as my husband was leaving, I was still in bed. As he closed the front door, I felt this force curling me into a tight fetal position. After he had pulled out of the driveway, it happened again and I got very tingly and I passed out. I had a really horrible dream, and twice in the dream, I tried to wake up to call him and let him know, but when I would try, it would pull me deeper in the dream. I woke up to my baby screaming and as I went to get her....
