I believe we have all gone through times like that in our lives, I know my wife and I have. We had to start from scratch when I was thirty and it sure wasn't easy. But we stuck it out and now here we are 27 years later and all is well. I have found that times like those make our character stronger.
As far as the prosperity teachings and legalistic teachings you spoke of all ways remember that God may give you a forty acre field but your going to plow it, plant it and harvest it, He isn't.
We, here at Anchor Point Ministries are praying for you.
May God Bless.

It sounds like you could really use words of encouragement! I'm not a pro at things like this but I would be delighted to shed some light on the questions you have posted.
Question 1:The trials that you are going through are a growing experience. Have you asked God to show you what the meaning of the trials that you are going through? Perhaps he would like for you to get stronger in certain areas for future plans he has in store for your life.
Question 2: I'm sorry I wish I could help but do not have an answer for you.
Question 3: If you feel like giving up I would pray and ask God to give you the strength you need to persevere through your trials. I would also call your church and ask to be put on a prayer chain so that you have many people praying for you.
It seems that when you get a point where all you want to do it quit then that's when the breakthrough happens. So keep in mind things only get worse and then they will get better.
One thing I tell myself when a problem arises is this. A problem is something you can't fix. I look at it as a challenge. I ask myself how can I change the situation I am currently in. Life is what you make of it. The way you take things in life can be a negative or a positive it's up to you. Good luck!

Although it may not seem like it at all at the time, sometimes the trials we go through actually help us. Remember, Job lost just about all he had, but God was still with him, and in the end, Job was better off then he was before all those things happened to him. Remember that God is with you and loves you no matter what happens. If you really want to have a godly attitude, you can pray, and God can help you. There's also some really good devotional books out there......

The first thing to remember is that you have made it thus far because of God watching over you and guiding your steps. Although you are in an uncomfortable position right now, you are exactly where you are meant to be. There may be someone that you are intended to come in contact with and would have never been able to do so without being in the position you are currently in. You may have a lesson that He is trying to teach you that you must be in this position to learn. We have no way of knowing what His intentions are, but we must trust His as He trusts us. You may feel like God has turned away from you, but you would not be in this position if He didn't trust you. God allows His faithful believers to endure some hardships because He trusts us to make it through with His help. If we are to have the knowledge to help others make it through certain trials, we must first go through them. Most of the trials we go through aren't for us, it's to help others make it through. One rule of thumb regarding God is that it's not all about you.

This can be an example of what can happen when WE try to control our lives instead of letting God take the lead. (I am not saying this is what happened in your case, but it happens often enough.) If you didn't seek God's guidance and wisdom before you made these changes, then perhaps He is letting you see what your life will be like if you are the one in control. If you did seek God's guidance and wisdom and He wanted you to go, then you need to try and see what He wants you to learn from this experience...perhaps to lean on HIS wisdom and not the wisdom of others (false teachings). About keeping a godly attitude, just continue to keep your eyes upon Him and DON'T stop praying and reading your Bible (I was in your shoes once and got mad at God, so I decided to stop all communication, both ways...it was the hardest year and a half of my entire life!) Hope this helps, and keep your head up sister, He has you in His sights and He will never leave nor forsake you! God bless!

Dear one - there is something I would like you to obtain if you ever have the chance.
It is a audio broadcast of the testimony of a woman named Darlene Rose, Missionary to Asia and Japanese Prisoner of War in WWII. The broadcast is offered by Focus on the Family under the title, "I Will Never Leave Thee."
I have kept our local Prison Chaplain stocked with this broadcast in the past for those laboring under the burden and trial of serving in Prison. It is a life-changing broadcast that could really help you to listen to when your struggles seem too great to bear.
Ms. Rose's testimony helps put our own troubles and attitudes into perspective and helps us keep walking in that Galatians 5:22-23 Fruit of the Spirit in the face of all trials.
Here is the link.

Meanwhile - remaining in the word daily is your most precious guide, dear one. Prayer and holding fast to Christ is the only way I know how to make it - in good times or bad.
You will make it, dear one. I know - because Christ has promised - "I will never leave thee..."
Peace.

Trying to answer this same question myself . . . I simply count my blessings and as I look around I see that things can always be worse than what I'm going through. Trying to let go of my desire for material happiness and seek God like I used to by reading the Bible more, praying more. God is answering my needs just not my wants right now . . . perhaps that is what you are going through. God promises to provide needs -not wants. Wants is all this world is concerned with . . . Just let go -that's difficult -but -that's where you will find peace by trusting that God will take care of you . . .

One thing that helps me when I'm going thru tough times and I don't feel like God is really there is that without the trials and tribulations life would be boring and I really wouldn't learn anything. My suggestion to you is to learn from what you are going through and to keep your faith intact. Stay strong in prayer and God will give you that inner peace you desire.

God is trying to grow you up & refine your character.
Jas 1:2-3 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
It sounds like an easy answer although its not. Try thanking God for the trials & ask him to show you what he wants you to learn.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

This happens to all of us. You need to cling even closer and work through this. Find a good small group in your area, and pray for guidance on what to do. It may be totally unexpected, but God had more in store for you than you could ever imagine for yourself. Get "My Utmost for His Highest" a book by Oswald Chambers. It's great and will give you inspiration. God bless and Merry Christmas!
I would encourage you to find some type of volunteer work -- it's very humbling to help people who are in worse circumstances than you are, and to get a new perspective.
