Well I can only speak for the Judeo-Christian-Islamic perception of God in answering this question. Using this form of God as a starting point, I think he values people based on the strength of their belief in him. If you look at all three religions, they all emphasize good deeds and behaving morally; things that no sane person would have an objection to.

Yet, ones willingness to act moral, and be charitable are not as highly extolled as ones fidelity towards God. So belief trumps goodness in the eyes of the God of western monotheism. Piety supersedes moral correctness in this God’s eyes.

Just look at the illustrious figures of the Bible. Men such as Abraham, Moses, Joshua, King David, Solomon all were guilty of murder, or attempted murder, and some were guilty of other crimes like adultery, rape (or the ordering of rape), enslavement, robbery and yet these men are elevated as paragons of virtue in the Judeo-Christian tradition because their belief in God was unwavering to the end. The same goes for the Prophet Muhammad, who ordered the deaths of many people, and participated in wars of aggression that spilled much blood, and enslaved many individuals. Yet, Muhammad, according to Islamic belief, is the ideal man that any good Muslim should try to emulate.

Think of the world as seen through the eyes of a Jewish, Christian, or Muslim God. A man like Abraham, who attempted to kill his own son to please God, is of more worth than a man who preached peace, such as Gandhi. Moses, who practically sanctioned slavery after having his own people free from bondage, is revered as a holy man, and is seen as greater than Fredrick Douglass, who vied for the emancipation of an oppressed people. Muhammad, a militant religious leader, who ended so many lives, is seen as beacon of righteousness in God’s eyes, even more so than say someone like Martin Luther King Jr.

Do you see how God’s value system, as it is portrayed in the Koran, Torah, and New Testament, doesn’t comport with how we views morality? Any perspective that assigns a higher worth to belief than action; to prayer than love for one’s fellow man, is a perspective that is inimical to a moral society. This is quite illustrative of why we cannot have religion be the source of our morality.

you know that is how people of religion think they think that they are so right and better than the rest of us it seems that their kind created this all knowing god so they have someone to blame for all the dumb stuff they do. It is high time people take responsibility for their lives and quit blaming the devil and quit saying God has chosen them. The God that speaks to people never had anything to do with starting the universe and making mankind with the stuff the stars are made of. God can not be little like man nor wrestle man nor impregnate woman as told in the bible. The universe is so vast that if anything could move across it in an instant it could destroy everything just as fast. the amount of time to make this planet and the bibles myths about that keeps our children weak in science having to learn what is real and what is just in the feeble minds of brainwashed men.

Romans 2:11 says,

"For there is no respect of persons with God."

This is true. In God's eyes, all men are equal, but this is categorical. Always remember that the Bible is a collection of God's will. He is a God of wisdom far greater than ours.

Consider the context. Romans 2:11 refers to salvation. Yes, God wants each and every soul to be saved, as stated by Paul in I Timothy 2:4,

"Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

But the Bible speaks differently about being "better" in God's eyes. Remember that there are evil men, more so there are those who find favor in God's eyes,

I Samuel 2:6;

"And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the LORD, and also with men."

There are also many other servants of the Lord who found favor in His eyes over others. What makes them "better" than others in God's eyes?

Proverbs 3:1-4 says,

"My son, FORGET NOT MY LAW; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
So SHALT THOU FIND FAVOR and good understanding IN THE SIGHT OF GOD and man."

Here is the answer: keep God's laws and commandments more than anything you keep in this world. In other words, love Him with all your heart. Continually seek Him.

Have a nice day.

God does not view us as being better than another. However, he does know who is living their life in the manner that he commanded and who is not. God loves all equally and despises all sins equally. He loves the person, hates the sin.

Nothing, God loves us all equally, the superiority complex belongs to us humans, that is only in our own minds that we are better than others.

It's a matter of Obedience to Him...not better or worse.
Some people are more responsive to God and more willing to do His will over theirs. It's a matter of choices.

To put God first, or put ourself first? Some choices we make please God, and others dissapoint Him. God does choose those who also serve Him the best, and they are usually the people who stand out as being different than their peers.

God loves us all. For that I rest my faith and argument.

If you want to look good in God's eyes, then you must be the servant to all. You must humble yourself before God and man. You must keep the commandments of Jesus, if you love Him, you will keep His commandments. Sell all that you have and give the money to the poor, and pick up your cross and follow Jesus.

God be with you,
William, a bond-servant of Jesus
