They're both wrong. There was no flood.

First, I do not for a minute believe that any of the stories in the Bible represent actual historical events. However, it is possible to discuss these events from within the context of the story, just as one can discuss the motivations of Ahab in chasing Moby Dick, even though neither actually existed.
So, if the Bible had said that a flood occurred that killed everybody but Noah & Co. without saying why it occurred, it would be possible to interpret that as being an act of God, or of some other agent, such as Satan, as your wife proposes. However, since the Bible clearly states that it was the work of God, it is not valid for your wife to "interpret" the story of the Flood to mean that Satan did it. She can believe whatever she wants, of course, but her interpretation is not valid. There is no evidence to support such an interpretation, and much to contradict it.
Further, why would Satan have needed to kill everybody to "collect the souls" of the non-believers? Satan is an eternal, or at least extremely ancient, being. Why could he not just wait for the people to die naturally? What's a few years, more or less, to such a being? Also, by killing everybody off Satan would be like the guy in the fable who killed the goose that laid golden eggs. Would it not be so much better for Satan to let things continue as they were, with the population of non-believers ever increasing, so as to collect even more souls in the long run?
Again, your wife is perfectly free to believe whatever she chooses to believe. But her "theory" is illogical, even from within the context of a highly illogical story.

This greatest cataclysm in all human history was sent by Jehovah because wicked men had filled the earth with violence. The survival of righteous Noah and his family, eight souls in all, together with selected animals, was by means of a huge ark, or chest.—Ge 6:1–9:19 The Deluge did not come suddenly without warning. Years of time were spent building the ark, time that Noah the “preacher of righteousness” also used in warning that wicked generation. (2Pe 2:5) Finally the time limit was up “in the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month.” The “male and female of every sort of flesh” had been brought into the ark with Noah’s family, as well as a sufficient food supply for all, and “after that Jehovah shut the door.” Then “the floodgates of the heavens were opened.” (Ge 7:11, 16)

Flood:
The Deluge, or cataclysmic flood in the time of Noah
never has been duplicated in human history. The flood inundated the earth as God's judgment. "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continoually" [ Genesis 6:5]. Noah, a rigtheous man,and his immediate were the only beings spared. They became the remnant who were to make a fresh start in human history.
God gave explicit instructions to Noah for building the ark that saved him and his family. The flood lasted 371 days

It was definitely God that caused the flood. Satan wouldn't have wanted the evil people dead, he would have wanted them alive because evil spreads quicker if the world is filled with evil people. With just Noah's family on the Earth, his children and future generations would be much less likely to turn against God as they will not have any influences from the evil people in the world.

The great flood was caused by water. Lots of water.
Or perhaps the flood story is metaphorical. Perhaps Noah really lived on a different planet whose star was about to go supernova. So Noah built a spaceship (the Ark) and carried the DNA records of all life (the animals) through the vast reaches of space, arriving here on Earth.

If you have studied the Bible where is the confusion.
"and God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me: for the earth is filled with violence through them: and, behold,I will destroy then with the earth" Gen 6:13
"and, behold, I even I do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy al flesh, where in is the breath of life, from under heaven;and every thing that is in the earth shall die". God continues in -v :17

God created the flood because of the actions of man. Now, where would god have found enough water to flood the earth? Simple. By melting the polar ice caps. Therefore, the melting of the ice caps is due to human activity.

The Great flood was caused when Niberu re-entered our solar system. The " Gods" didn't cause it , they just chose not to warn the humans. The God's were mad as the son's of the God's were having sex with the earth people . It's in the old testament in it's original Hebrew and also in the Sumerian writings from 5000 BC.

I don't think so. I think the flood is a metaphor for giant floods that did occur, and perhaps their purpose happened to coincide with people turning away from God. I would gather up more reputable sources and study, as you are doing.

Happened long ago, long time before humanity, so it must be God that did it.
But if it happened after humans walked this earth, than, it couldn't be the devil, for the only ones remaining are NOHA and family and all the animals.
