Why not?
I have many times in the past.

I would vote for a person based on the issues and their qualification to do the job. I am a Christian and would not vote for a candidate or not vote for one because of their religion or lack of religion. Just as I would not vote for or not vote for a candidate just because of their sex or race.
It is sad that people march the party line and use excuses like religion, sex or race to qualify a candidate.
And I won't be voting for Huckabee for reasons other than his faith.

Did he or any of his staff specifically address him as a "Jesus Freak"? Better to be a zealous follower of Jesus than of satan, don't you think?
I look to character and fiscal responsibility.
Huckabee is conservative by personal faith, but liberal by fiscal history - raising taxes - which concerns me more.
He's consistent with his issues regarding his faith. He has not been wishy-washy as has Romney or Giuliani.
I've been looking to Alan Keys these days. He's been conservative spiritually and economically and he shows great enthusiasm running for President.
Get off the Anti-Religion bandwagon. You're showing yourself to be shallow in decision making. Chill out!

The loaded way you present your statement indicates you have a strong and hostile bias.
IOW, you didn't ask an honest question, you've stated an opinion and are looking for validation.

If I thought he would do the best job as President, in a heartbeat. I don't, but it has nothing to do with his religion.
So you're saying that his religion prevents you from examining his other beliefs, and would be the sole and only reason for you to refuse to vote for him? Can you define "bigot"?

Not in primaries. In the general election, if it's Huckabee vs a Democrat, I would vote for Huckabee....I wouldn't be happy about it however.

You call yourself Timothy Monkeyballs, but call Huckabee the freak? Time for a little Re-Self-Evaluation Mr. Balls.
Have a nice day.

I'll probably vote for him in the primary, and will vote for any Republican candidate in the general election.
