nobody gets fired without reason...either there's something you don't know or just as likely she offended someone in authority.

need more info...but only a masochist goes back to where they have been fired from.

I think your mother is right.

Reason or not, there are places where you can be fired at ANY time WITHOUT cause... like here in Wyoming. They call it a "Right to WORK" state... while I prefer to call it a "Right to FIRE" state.

I don't think you should "pursue" the matter any farther. If the youth pastor joins up with another church, maybe consider joining that church. Otherwise, you have to learn that people will "come and go" in your life all the time. Are you going to follow after these people every time this happens? Is it WORTH a change in YOUR life to pursue THEIR life?

Oh... and the reason for firing her may be kept confidential for EVERYONE's sake, so you may never know that there was a VERY GOOD reason to fire her. TRY to trust the church council's judgement.

Have a blessed day.

It is a toss up.

.....1.....
She may not trust the church elders, and feel that they are only asking her out of duress.

.....2.....
She may have felt that she was making inroads with the youth and secretly desire to return and finish the job.

She would probably have a struggle on her hands if she were asked to make that decision.

Did any of those that requested that she leave her teaching position take over the difficult task of being a youth leader??

If not they just hurt the church and its future even more...It is not easy being a YP...I know from experience.

Sounds like you have stumbled on your first case of religion causing horrible human behavior.

Get ready, there is allot more to come.

Its my experience that when good people are betrayed by gossipers claiming to be God's children, they tend to be a little bitter and distrustful of believers after that.

She will most likely not return, and probably shouldn't.

The people who did this to her, in church, have proven by their behavior that the belief system they follow is not good for people.

Ask yourself if she was giving of her time and truly trying to do God's will. If she was, and they turned her away, what does it tell you about the leadership in your church. Are you being led by moral people?

People never do anything for NO reason -- you just don't know what the reason is.

That having been said....if you really like this pastor, then by all means stand up for her and encourage the church to bring her back!

I think you should ask her. If you drag a lot of people into it...she may not be too happy and it could embarrass her more. It's nice that you are so passionate about her.

You should ask her first...then maybe a petition would be best.
God bless you.

No way to tell. And you can't be sure that there was no reason; usually the details of such things are kept very quiet.

I know for a fact there was a reason. Even if it wasn't her fault, there was a cause. That reason is crucial to the rest of your question.

IT CANT HURT TOT RY...IT WOULD SHOW A UNIFIED GROUP AND MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD THAT YOU TRIED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. GOOD LUCK!

I THINK SHE WOULD COME BACK IF SHE KNEW HOW MUCH THE KIDS WANTED HER THERE. THATS THE WHOLE REASON SHE DOES IT ANYWAYS RIGHT? ITS ABOUT YOU KIDS AND HER, NOT HER AND 'THE CHURCH'
