If the human cell is intelligently designed, then the common cold virus HAS to be intelligently designed...Since it invades the healthy cell, and swaps it's dna code so the cell starts churning out fresh virii...how did it "know" how to to that?

theres more proof for you ID people...

IHF: if my body has to work harder to keep itself warm, it's not working as hard on it's anti-infection systems, right?

I dunno - but then again - I can't seem to think straight right now as I seem to be coming down with a cold myself. Started out with the sniffles this morning and have been feeling worse and worse as the day has progressed - I can't wait to get home and eat some raw garlic and drink some herbal tea and curl up in a warm blanket for a nap.

For the rest of you cold sufferers - garlic has natural anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Chop up some raw garlic, put it on some bread with butter (to counteract the potent taste of raw garlic), and eat it. It will help to fight off the virus. (Cooking the garlic breaks down these properties so it wouldn't be as effective.) Take a couple doses of that and continue with the vitamin C as well. Hope ya'll feel better quickly! :)

Yes, they most certainly are. Intelligent design doesn't only refer to the human machine, but to all of creation. The Universe exhibits order. We just prefer to think that order has a sentient cause as opposed to a random one.

I like to think of cold viruses like an extra sense. They are like little nano-probes, that go out into the world and adapt to it. Then they bring that information back to us. They bring us new DNA code fragments for our bodies to test. I think that as DNA sequencing techniques improve we will begin to find that the DNA code of an individual is not fixed. I think the secret of life is adaptive code.

Even if its not true, you have to admit its an interesting theory. I don't have the means to experiment with it, so for now it will have to remain just a theory. I hope someday I'll get a chance to find out for sure.

With Love,

Hi there! Sorry to hear you're not feeling well......but you know better . All you can really do for a virus is rest and lots of fluids......intelligent design? If it can get you out of work for a day or two, then I'd say yes - it's intelligent! (lol)
Hope you feel better!

Well you had a good start but when you went to the point of claiming your cold is the result of falling in the snow...you went and got stupid...

Why wouldn't viruses be as intelligently designed as anything else...

My son hardly ever gets sick but when he does, OMG, it usually means a trip to the hospital. Yeah, I see the intelligence needed to create a body that overheats to kill off some stupid flu-like virus.
In regards to your question, Lucifer is the one who let Eve have knowledge, is he not? Why, if it weren't for him, would we know that having a cold is not a good thing? Think how not happy/not sad we'd be if it weren't for him!

Yes. So let me guess, "why would an all loving God design rhinovirus"? I do not know. "How does the virus know to swap dna code? Random trial and error, beneficial mutation and mathematical improbability. Is that the answer you want?

How do you know that the virus is not beneficial?

Homeopathic remedies=the same thing as prayer. lol. You just hope that the clinical trials are all unbiased and not done by some hippie in his mom's basement......

whoah.....

And Magley, you silly, you know that you had to have shared germs with someone in order to get a cold, it has nothing to do with the cold. So just get a blanket, someone to sunggle with and have some orange juice. That someone comes in handy if you need to break a fever....hehe.
