my friend from india was was giving away candy and sweets he was so happy about his first born son i worked with him for almost 2 years , so i asked him when was the last time u visited india he answered 3 years , and so i asked how could u have a son then , he said o well my brother pleasing her till i come back .

If that's even true, it's not widespread. It may be an obscure custom that some people practice (or the guy may just be cool with polyamory), but it's not common.
