People ask a question about something they are really stummped on.... or maybe they are really hurt, then everyone says pray about it. I don't think you can rely on prayer too much, even if you do believe in a god, or even anything. You need to help yourselves, not wait around for your god to save you.

You can try so many other things.
No, I don't believe in any god. I believe in myself.. I just don't understand your reasoning.

...well with that theory then everyone would be considered Agnostic since nobody can prove God exist or doesn't exist..and therefor everyone would be Agnostic by default.

Am I wrong?

Abraham had Sarah and Hagar, Jacob had a bunch (at least the translation called them "wives", King Solomon had 700 (plus 300 concubines).

Please see Genesis 2:2-3:

"And on the seventh day, God ended His work which He had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it He had rested from all His work which God wanted and made."

Seasons don't need the rest, nor do the Wind or the summer rain... Why can't God be as they are?
God is said to be ALL-POWERFUL, so why does HE need "REST", if that is so?
Can someone help me understand this? I'm SO confused.

1. Since we all think differently there is no right or wrong, only opinions.

2. Some People are just more intelligent than others but of course the less intelligent ppl won't admit that.

What do you think?

I love writing down my prayers and then entering in how God has answered those prayers. It is really a blessing.

Do you have a prayer journal?

Jesus was baptised by immersion when he was "buried" in the water. Why did the Catholic church make up their own version of baptism?

Let me give you the quote which is the genesis of this question:

In some ways I'm an Elitist. I do not believe that we are all entitled to our opinions. I do believe that we are all entitled to our informed opinion. - Harlan Ellison

I'm sure Ellison would agree that there are some things where everyone's opinion is pretty much equal - whether chocolate chip cookies are better before or after baking, for instance. (Although if you think they taste better after baking, you're obviously deranged.) On other matters, though, how informed you are obviously makes a difference. Einstein's opinion about relativity is better than mine. Stephen Jay Gould's opinion about evolution is better than any of ours.

So - what do you think?

And, before you report this (and I know at least one of you is thinking of that), "what do you think" is a question. I'm asking this here because it's the opinions of the habitues of this board about which I'm curious.

Its been studied that, 5 ft of the suns surface burns off every minute, which means that at one time it was bigger, scientists now say that the sun could not be over one million years old, because it would have been so big it would have burn up the earth moon and surrounding planets, also its gravitaional force would've pulled the planets in, destroying them. this is one fact that supports a young universe.. how do atheistic scientists over look this? because it disproves a theory? please give me a serious anwser!
information from Institution of creation science
I'd be glade to give more examples too!

...do you feel the pressure, or better put, the responsibility to have brought others with you into heaven? what i mean is, much of the things we value in life are material, irrelevant, and fleeting, in contrast to the things which god desires. that said, when you come to stand before god and he asks you, "what have you done in your life to multiply the things i gave you," do you feel the weight of that? does the thought of what matters most to god and the winning of souls to christ, put a sense of dread into you because you feel the fear of, or simply neglect, the approaching others about jesus? as christians do you ever think about going before god empty handed? i do, that is why i'm asking. as christians, what are we to do most in this life? many of us have loved ones who don't share our relationship to christ, so how do we overcome the enemy and intercede for them? granted, its christ's work and not our own that saves us and others, but i love so many who don't know him.
