Because they have never read or just don't follow (Acts 2:38).

I am a "people" - and I say that it IS necessary....
So did Jesus.
In Matt. 28:19-20 - Jesus commands the apostles to baptize all people "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit."
This is what the Church practiced and believed for the first almost 1,600 years of Christendom.
Unfortunately, too many Protestant churches are now teaching that baptism is only a symbolic ritual, and not what actually cleanses us from original sin.
This belief contradicts Scripture and the 2,000 year-old teaching of the Church.

How about Romans 2:14 ?
(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)

NOt TRUE
The people of old were never baptised...
so what happen to them They didnt make it ?According to your sayings
Read it again
ONE GOD ( JESUS)(HOLY GHOST)
ONE FAITH ( JESUS)(HOLY GHOST)
ONE BAPTISM ( JESUS)(HOLY GHOST)
if water was ALL it took to be saved, then why did Christ die ??
if water was able to cleanse then why His death and shedding of blood ?
IT was and is an outward SHOW of a good Conscience towards GOD
John the baptist even told the pharisee's to bring MEATS ready for baptism
A drunk dunked in water...wont be saved but just come up a wet drunk
THE water or creek or baptismal , or pond or bathtub or sprinkling is nothing......
THE PURE WATER IS THE WORD OF GOD
example the women at the well...Jesus told her " if you knew who i was , ye would ask me and i would give you WATER and YOU WOULD NEVER THIRST AGAIN
that water is HIS WORD
HE IS THE RIVER of LIFE
HE IS THE BREAD of LIFE
HE IS THE TREE of LIFE
JESUS CHRIST IS LIFE
HE IS THE HOLY GHOST
AND THE BAPTISM WE NEED IS THE
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST and FIRE
WHICH IS POWER FROM ON HIGH
HE IS THE COMFORTER
and JESUS said I WILL SEND YOU THE COMFORTER
I WILL COME TO YOU !!!
YES AS A WITNESS TO MAN of the DEATH,BURIAL , RESURRECTION of CHRIST
GET BAPTISED...BUT ONE IS NOT ,CAN NOT, BE SAVED BY BEING DUNKED OR SPRINKLED IN WATER
ITS JESUS CHRIST AND HIS BLOOD WHICH CLEANSES
FROM SIN AND ITS THE PURE WATER OF THE WORD
WHICH QUENCHES OUR THIRST
AND ITS THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST THAT GIVES US POWER TO LIVE THIS LIFE...AS CHRIST LEADS US BY IT AND WITH IT, and IT IS
JESUS CHRIST that is
ALL and ALL !!!!!!!!!

You are a Christian in your heart and by your acts of kindness and charity to your fellow man.
It is unnessessary to baptise children, especially infants because they are sinless in God's eyes. When a child is born there is no need to baptise it because it doesn't have any knowledge of good vs. evil.

I think some Christians say that because of the thief on the cross. That proves it is not. Anyone who is accepts Christ on their deathbed is saved even if they cannot be water baptized.

"that which corresponds to his is also saving you, namely, baptism". -1 Peter 3:21
Baptism is a symbol of our dedication to God and is necessary for God's approval. It identifies us as a member of the Christian congregation.

To become a Christian one only needs to abandon reason and replace it with blind faith in the Christ mythology. The Bible contradicts itself on what is required for salvation.
